Whatever buzz that mine and Trixie's verbal fight created soon disappeared. People seem to be really enjoying themselves now.

I didn't see Trixie or Caspian around for that matter. God knows where they are. Probably fucking, I thought bitterly.

When I saw him dragging Trixie out, not gonna lie it hurt like a bitch because instead of him being on my side, he was on hers. Instead of River, it should've been him, holding me back and calming me down. I wanted it to be him.

Guess, he really meant what he said.

A hand on my shoulder broke me off from my thoughts that were running wild.

I looked up to see River's black eyes staring down at me as he forwards his hand in front of me "Would you like to dance?"

Now, I am not a great dancer but I am not the worst either and if this dance will make me get out of my thoughts that seem to be all about him then I will gladly accept.

Placing my own hand on his, I gave him a small smile as he started to lead me towards the dance floor.

There was a romantic song going on the speakers and I could see all the couple slow dancing while looking so in love. I didn't know which song it was since I don't listen to soft  or romantic music.

River takes my hand and places it on his shoulder while his one hand goes to my waist and another mingles with mine.

"Are you sure you want to dance on this song?" I teased him with my one eyebrow raised.

"Why not?" He asks.

"Because it is romantic?" This was supposed to come out as a statement but it came out more like a question.

He chuckled softly "Don't try to make this awkward, Aideen."

"Oh, I was doing that?" I teased him back.

He smiled softly as he blushed a little. Oh, my. He is the first guy I've seen who blushes.

"I-I wanted to ask you out on a date, Aideen" River stuttered a little.

My smile vanished as I looked at him with a glum look "River."

I don't know why but my eyes wandered around the hall and came in contact with a pair of piercing blue ones.

And the one who owns those eyes looked anything but happy.

Biting my lip in apprehension, I broke our eye contact and focused on declining River's offer as softly as I could because hurting him was the last thing on my mind.

If it would've anyone else I wouldn't had given it any second thought before just saying no but I've known River for a few weeks now and he has become kind of a friend to me.

And he is one of the greatest guy I know. But I can't see him as more than a friend.

As much as my mind says something else, my heart knows I only want one man who has zero interest in me and I can't do that to River.

Dating River while not having any feelings for him doesn't sit right with me.

My eyes found River's as I gave him a small sad smile "I am sorry, River."

He half-smiled as he nodded his head then looked down.

I couldn't help but cup his chin to make him look at me so that he knows what I am going to say next comes from the bottom of my heart "You are a great guy, River. I like you but only as a friend, please don't let this come between our friendship."

His hand found mine which was on his face as he squeezed it for assurance "Of course not, Aideen. Thank you for being honest with me."

We both smiled at each other as we went back to dancing however soon enough the song ended and I had to go pee.

I looked over at River "I have to go to the washroom."

He nods his head at me as he leaves, probably to find his friends whereas I start making my way to the washroom.

After doing my business in the washroom and retouching my makeup, I left to find Olivia or Leo. I have not seen Leo the whole night, I wonder where he is.

There was nobody around as most of the students were inside the ballroom. Just as I was going to climb up the stairs to go back to the ballroom and join others, a hand on my wrist made me come to a halt.

I let out a gasp as there was nobody here and just as I turned around to see who was it, I was lifted off from the ground and on that person's shoulder.

Looking down at the person's body, of course it was a man but who?

I struggled in their hold and moved my hands and legs as I punched their back.

"What the fuck! Let me go!" I yelled.

Their grip tightened and they warned in their cold voice "Stop struggling or I will drop you."

By hearing their voice, I was pretty sure who it was.

Of course, he just can't let me be, can he?

"Caspian, leave me or I promise when you do leave me, I will punch you so hard you won't be able to get up."

He only let out a low chuckle as if my warning didn't fazed him "Please, little fire. Don't dirty talk me, you are turning me on."

"Oh, my foot will turn you on, alright, when it kicks your ass" I snarked at him while punching his back "Let me go!"

I stopped my movements when he finally came to a stop and drops me back down on my feet.

Furious with him, I demanded "What the fuck is wrong with you? What are you doing?"

He only smirks at me, turns around and locks the door.

I was so busy being angry with him that I didn't even realized he had dragged me to a room, alone with him and has now locked the only exit of the room.

Looking around, I noticed this was the arts room. Of course, how can I not remember this room? I spend most of my time here.

However, now that I look around all the canvases and paint that littered this room was now way back in a corner. Probably they cleaned the whole school because of the ball?

But instead of the canvases and paint, the room was filled with lighted candles- a lot of candles.

The chandelier that was never used was on which gave the room quite a beautiful vibe.

Wow. Just wow.

"Who did this?" I couldn't help but whisper out the question that kept playing in my mind.

I heard someone clearing their throat and I turned around to notice it was indeed Caspian.

He smirked "That doesn't matter."

Wrapping his arm around my waist, he changed our flipped us over as now I was leaning against the door and he was closing in on me.

His other hand, came up to touch the side of my face tenderly as I couldn't waver my stare from his eyes that looked down on me.

However, his tender touch soon turned forceful as he gripped my chin tightly while his eyes though blue but still had a fire in them.

I was furious before but right now? Caspian was in a rage.

"What matters is" He started "You looked quite cozied up with that guy."
