Survival of the Fittest

We were currently in a room with the grounders back at our camp.

I was standing with Tavia and a guard was behind us

"Don't worry my shock baton's got your back." The guard whispered

I turn to him in disbelief

"Why don't you shove it up where the sun don't shine, yeah?" I spat

Tavia chuckled at my comment before turning her attention to Indra and Kane.

"I know we don't have much in common. But our common enemy is the Mountain Men. For us to get our people out of Mount Weather, we need to work together. Skai kru and Tri kru." Kane said

We continue to listen to Kane telling everyone about how our survival depends on us working together.

Suddenly, I hear a loud commotion and I snap my head to the source. Murphy had gotten into an argument with one of the grounders.

"Mr. Murphy apologize to that man." Kane ordered

"For what? He came to me." Murphy protested

"Two days detail." Kane sentenced

"What? I just said-"

"Want to make it three?"

Murphy nods his head and walks away.

"You can burn just like your friend." The grounder said

That made Murphy reallyyyy mad.

He punched the grounder causing a riot to break.

I tried to help stop it but it was no use. I even ended up getting punched a few times.

We were now outside, watching the grounders train.

"Impressive aren't they?" Kane questions

Tavia and I nod our head watching in amazement.

"Os, Fiyou. Chon yu nes?" (Good, Fio. Who's next?) Indra asked

This time I was actually able to somewhat understand what Indra said since Lincoln had been teaching us.

"I am. We're supposed to train together, right?" Tavia said

"Only warriors train." Indra scowls

"I saved your life." Tavia scoffed

"And now I'm saving yours."

"Hey let's just train together Tavia." I sigh

Tavia nods and we walk away to spar.

While fighting, I notice every now and then Indra glances at us.

"Make sure you stay less distracted. Your eyes keep wandering. Focus on me." Tavia points out as she pinned me to the ground

I nodded and got up

We fight with and without weapons and I'd say I did pretty good since Tavia wasn't going easy on me.

"Ok let's take a quick break and sharpen our swords." Tavia said

I nodded and sat with her.

"Pen! Chil yu daun!" (Penn! Stand down!) Indra yells

Tavia and I look up to see Indra yelling at one of her people for considering taking a gun.

"Guns could keep them alive. I don't know but it's almost like they're scare of them." Kane frowns

"They are." I say
