Aurora

We were told we could use Luna and I's bone marrow to make others nightbloods but we'd have to test it first, meaning we'd have to expose someone to radiation.

Luckily we didn't have to sacrifice any of us but someone who used to abuse Emori.

We strapped him down do the table and closed the chamber to it.

"He's ready." Jackson informs

"Yeah. But are we?" Raven questions

"The guys a monster." Emori reminds

"We've been over this. None of us wants to do this, but the death wave will be here in 10 days. Luna's stem cells grafted successfully. Baylis is making nightblood on his own. This really is our only hope." Clarke frowns

"Black rain is already here. 18 people died in it yesterday at Arkadia, so if nightblood can let us walk around in it, I, for one, want to know about that." Murphy points out

"Okay. Jackson, proceed." Abby nods

"Copy that. Initiating."

Jackson turns on the chamber and slowly powers it up

"500 REM."

"850. This is where we'd see symptoms in a non-nightblood."

"BP is 100 over 50. Body temp is 90.7. Resting comfortably." Abby says

"No visible affects." Clarke gasps

"1,000 REM."

"1,500."

"All good here." Abby reassures

"2,000 REM, the level of black rain."

"Still noting. It's working." Clarke smiles

"2,500."

Suddenly the monitor started to rapidly beep.

"Wait. Turn it off!" Ally demands once she saw radiation burns on the man

Jackson quickly shut off the machine.

The man inside begs me to scream in pain and claw at the glass.

"Get him out of here!" Clarke orders

"Wait! It's not safe yet." Jackson stops

All we could do was watch him scream as radiation burns consume him.

Then.

Death.

___

"Sodium Polyethanol Sulfonate. It's an additive to prevent clotting. Looks like the radiation broke it down and caused a chain reaction." Jackson explains

"What happens if we remove it?" Clarke asks

"We could save everyone." Abby smiles

"You could? So you're saying this can still work?" Murphy questions

"Not without testing."
