Math problems. That's what kept Michael entertained. Well, not so much entertained but distracted. Distracted from the horrible pain of being cramped in a tiny locker for hours on end, unable to stand without being uncomfortable. And, when he was sitting, the wooziness wasn't as bad.

He knew that he was going to pass out soon. It happened quite frequently nowadays. On days that he didn't have any food at all, he always fainted somewhere near the end of the day. And, since he hadn't had any food since last night for dinner--and didn't eat a lot, either--he was bound to pass out at any second.

As Michael was going through different complex math problems in his head, he felt his eyelids start to droop. And soon, his head fell back and hit the locker door before everything went black.
