Chapter 21: The Protection of The Mafia Boss

"Dad..." I called. Nakaramdam siguro sina Kreios at Mnemosyne na hindi ako komportable kaya naman hinatak nila ako at si Mom sa likod nila

"Kreios, Mnemosyne, a pleasure to see you here. Are you doing the mafia's errands?" tanong ni Dad habang tumingin lamang ng masama sina Kreios at Mnemosyne sa kanya. I don't know kung saan niya nakuha ang confidence na yan

"We were tasked to guard Mrs. Valmont" sagot naman ni Kreios as Dad frowned "She's not a Valmont. She's a Clavero!" galit na sigaw nito. Mom flinched habang ako ay nakaramdam ng kaba

"She's the wife of Octavia Valmont, therefore, she is a Valmont" Mnemosyne replied. Dad sighed at tinignan ako "Anak, why don't you come back to us? Magulo ang buhay ng mga Valmont. Just, please, come back. I promise, ipakakasal kita sa mga mayayamang lalaki. Against ka rin naman dito diba?"

"No. I want to be by Octavia's side. Besides, hindi ba't gusto niyo kong makasal sa kanya?" ani ko as he groaned "That's my mistake. Let's just go back to our home. You, me, and your mom. We can all be a great family again"

Tinignan ko si Mom as I saw bruises on her neck and her arms at mukhang takot siya kay Dad. I looked at him "Just look at what you did to Mom, Dad! And you think hindi ko alam na kinausap mo si Nikitin para ipapatay si Octavia?!" 

"She's a monster, Elaina, can't you see that?!"

"Please do not disrespect her like that, Dad! At least she protects me the way that I wished you would!"

He heavily sighed at tinignan ako ng masama "Fine, I'll just have to take you with me using force" sambit ni Dad at sumenyas sa mga bodyguards niya. I was surprised when Kreios pushed me and Mom to the car while Mnemosyne fired warning shots at the ground using her gun and everything went a blur

Narinig ko si Dad na sumisigaw habang humarurot naman ang kotse na sinasakyan namin. Mom looks shocked habang ako ay kinakabahan not because my so called friends have guns but because Dad is following us

"Bakit hindi ka gumamit ng silencer?!" Kreios yelled "Well sorry if I was trying not to let the annoying maniac to Trojan's wife!" sigaw naman pabalik ni Mnemosyne

Iniwasan naman ni Kreios ang mga kotse at pinatakbo pa ng mabilis ang kotse and I was confused kung bakit hindi kami tumigil sa Athena Palace. I yelled at Kreios "Where are you taking us?!"

"To the Mafia Mansion! We'll inform Trojan that you're staying there!" sigaw ni Kreios sa akin. The "Miss" is long gone. Siguro dahil emergency na itong ginagawa namin

We were relieved nang hindi na nila kami nasundan kaya naman nag-menor si Kreios sa pagpapatakbo ng kotse. Damn, he's a good driver

I glanced at Mom to check on her and I was enraged to see bruises on her full body. Hindi lang talaga pinatamaan ni Dad si Mom sa mukha to hide his abuse

Hindi na ko nagsalita ng humikbi si Mom. Why does everyone I love cry today?! Hindi naman National Crying Day ngayon noh?!

"It's over, Mom. Hindi ka na niya sasaktan..." ani ko at niyakap si Mom. I could see the two other reapers gaze at me and I couldn't help but pity them. Right, they weren't used to affections and such

Nakarating kami sa mansyon. The two assassins exited the car first upang alalayan si Mom, lumabas na rin ako at ako ang sumuporta sa likod ni Mom. Mnemosyne yelled to a person named Pandora, a girl with red locks and looks like in her 20s

Mom was brought to a room full of medical supplies habang tinignan naman siya ni Pandora. I stayed beside Mom's side habang lumabas naman si Mnemosyne at Kreios para icontact si Octavia

"How is she?" tanong ko kay Pandora as she smiled "She's going to be alright, Mrs. Valmont. Kailangan niya lang ng mahaba habang pahinga and it would really help if I could examine her alone?" sambit nito as I paused. Hindi ko alam kung mapagkakatiwalaan ko siya however Octavia said no one in her mafia would dare to betray her

I sighed at tumango sa kanya. Lumabas na ko as I saw Octavia who was running towards me. She was wearing a red blouse and black pants habang ang buhok naman niya ang naka-ponytail. I was surprised na sinuot niya ang salamin niya ngayon and she looks badass

"I came here as fast as I could" Octavia spoke at niyakap ko na lang siya. I remembered that she cried a few hours ago and I can't help but feel worried about her. Nakakaranas na naman siya ng stress dahil lang sa amin ni Mom. She pulled me close to her at hindi na nagsalita

"Everything's gonna be okay, hon. I promise you that. Your mother would be okay" bulong pa nito sa aking tenga which made me hug her more

Binuhat naman niya ako sa kwarto niya rito sa Mafia Mansion. Her room are a mix of black and white color with modernize LED lights kaya hindi mukhang gothy ang dating. Inihiga niya ako sa kama at hinalikan ang noo

"You should take some nap. Masyadong marami ang naganap ngayon. The Guerreros, the lunch with my family and this. Ako nang bahala sa lahat, alright?" she said at aalis na sana nang hawakan ko ang kamay niya

"Will Mom be alright?" tanong ko as she smiled "Yes, she will be, my love" sagot nito sa akin. I pulled her to me kaya naman nahulog siya sa tabi ko. Before she could even react, niyakap ko siya and I was happy she melted into our embrace

I could feel her feet trying to remove our shoes and she was successful in doing so. I rested my head under the crook of her neck. Niyakap naman niya ako ng sobrang higpit and I feel protected. 

"She'll be okay, hon, I promise you. Hindi ko hahayaang mapahamak ikaw o ang Mama mo, mark my words, my beloved wife, I promise you"
