Hiniwa ko ang steak na nasa harapan ko at isinubo ito. This was no time to eat such delicacies dahil kailangan kong humanap ng paraan para pabagsakin ang sarili kong ina. Wouldn't think I would eat with my mother though

"So, how's being an actress in Hollywood?" tanong ni Mom. I just smiled and didn't bother looking at her "It's nice. I took some vacation kaya wala akong projects as of now. The kids love the Philippines" simpleng sagot ko

"Oh? Kaya ba pati ang mother-in-law mo at ang ex ng husband mo ay kasama mo rin? Hell! At sa iisang bubong pa talaga kayo nakatira" Mom commented. Ibinaba ko ang kubyertos at tinignan siya, smiling at her "Pinamamanmanan mo ba ko, Mom?" I straightforwardly asked

Binaba niya rin ang kubyertos niya at tinignan ako "Yes, you are right, Athena. How can you live with your husband's ex? Your reputation will be tainted. International actress ka pero hindi mo alam lumugar. Hindi ba na scandal na kayo?"

I sighed. It is true na napunta pa kami sa international news about that. Nakipag areglo sila kay Octavia after that para hindi sila makulong but still makes my life a living hell. They keep saying that I'm selfish for keeping this secret at dapat umaasenso na kami ngayon. I live with them to take care of the kids dahil wala namang kwenta si Valerie para mag alaga sa kanila. Still, my mother in law adores her

Tumayo na ko at iniwan siya "Those bad memories wouldn't be patched up to fix our relationship, I guess. Thanks for the food" sambit ko. I bowed at her. Wala na kong makukuhang impormasyon sa kanya dahil sa attitude nya ngayon

I stopped on my tracks and glared at her "Weren't you the one who droved your own daughter away kaya ako umalis ng mansion noon?" I spoke coldly. Mom straightened her back "It's not my fault you were weak. Mabuti na nga lang at tinanggap ng anak mong si Octavia ang trabaho mo however she grew a big mouth like yours. It's a bit disappointing that Urias didn't finished her off-"

Nagulat siya nang ibagsak ko ang kutsilyo sa harapan niya, the plate cracking and the food falling down on her lap "I suggest you shut your mouth about my daughter. Tanggap ko pa na iniinsulto niyo ko pero hindi ko tatanggapin kapag si Octavia na ang pinagsasalitaan niyo ng masama" I threated her

She was looking at me with her mouth agape. I flashed a smile "I guess my daughter inherited something from me after all. Kaya pala handa niyo siyang patayin dahil naaapektuhan yang pride mo. Father would be proud to see how far my Octavia had grown" I bowed once again "Let's not meet again, Mom"

With that, I took my leave, leaving her inside the restaurant. Napansin ko na naghihintay ang reaper ni Octavia as she bowed at me "Ako po si Artemis. Pinadala po ako ni Trojan para bantayan kayo" sambit nito as I gave a gentle smile "I see. Then, pwede mo ba kong samahan sa warehouse?" I asked

Artemis then nodded at pumasok na ko sa dala niyang kotse. Nagtaxi lang kasi ako papunta dito dahil yung driver namin ay utusan ng mother in law ko. Malamang magrereport yon at iisipin ng mother in law ko na nakipag date ako. I don't want to add more stress to myself

"Nakausap niyo na ba si Urias? Anong sabi niya?" tanong ko as she was driving. I then received a sigh from her "He is a tough nut to crack at tao talaga natin siya. However, he stated na hindi lamang po ang mother niyo ang nag-utos nito. Someone known as The Crow of the Italian Mafia was involved too"

My eyes widened. I knew exactly who she was talking about. I sighed "Drop me off the airport at pakihanda ang eroplano. I knew who this Crow is at kailangan ko siyang makausap before it is too late for Octavia" I said, panicking on my seat. Artemis noticed it kaya naman binilisan niya ang pagdrive

Hindi maaari. Hindi pa niya alam ang katotohanan at sa oras na mapatay niya si Octavia, magkakagulo ang buong mundo. I have to save my daughter and just this once, Octavia would be happy that I had done something right
