Chapter 34: Attempted Murder

As the party progressed, I could feel another pair of eyes to me and Elaina. I couldn't help but feel anxious not because someone is looking at us but it was something that screams danger. I do not wish for Elaina to be in danger again

After eating the food I took sa buffet, a lot of people decided to invite Elaina and I on different dances. However, as expected on my girl, she and I refused the invites from them and decided to dance each other

"May I dance with my wife?" tanong nito habang nakangiti sa akin. I chuckled. Napakacute naman niya. She invites me kahit alam niyang kahit anong pagtatanong niya ay papayag ako sa mga kagustuhan niya  "Of course, darling"

She guided me to the dance floor as we swayed to the music. I am quite happy that I wore a gown instead of a suit dahil hindi niya ko masasayaw ng ganito kung ako yung nakasuit 

"You look so beautiful" sambit ni Elaina

"Oh please, you look like a charming prince" sagot ko sa kanya as she chuckled at my words and kisses my forehead

"I love you"

"I love you most"

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang mabasag ang bintana. I was too focused on Elaina na hindi ko namalayang nabaril ang tenga ko. With the shock I am feeling at the moment, I fell down on the ground

"Octavia?! O-Octavia!"

Kreios pulled Elaina away as multiple reapers covered my body. Wala akong marinig. Everything was a blur at hindi ko alam kung anong nangyayari sa paligid ko

"E-Elaina... W-Wifey..." I still called for her even if my reapers tore us apart. I want to make sure she's safe. I want her away from danger, away from here. The throbbing pain wasn't even bothering me but I knew my nervous system didn't take the shock well

"G-Get her out of here... S-Safe..." nanghihina kong ani. Dahan dahan nang pumipikit ang mga mata ko. Kahit ayaw kong mawala sa paningin ko si Elaina, I knew she was safe with Kreios protecting her

I woke up in a trance. Masakit ang ulo ko at hindi ko mapaliwanag ang sakit nito. Pinagmasdan ko ang paligid at alam kong nasa ospital ako na pagmamay-ari ng pamilya namin. After all, I was the one who paid for it

I feel alone

I sat up at hinawakan ang dextrose ko para makagalaw ako sa kwarto. When I suddenly walked in front of the mirror, I knew I was fucked up

Nakabandage ang buong kaliwa kong tenga and I can't even hear. I then held my cheek, that had a bandage on it. I figured it was due to the fact that the bullet did not only graze my ear but my cheek as well

Suddenly the door opened, and Elaina walk in, along with my sisters. I wanted to cry, seeing Elaina but I pulled myself together

"Octavia! You should be in bed resting" I only stared at Olivia blankly. Walang lumabas sa aking bibig nung ibuka ko ito. Elaina then walked beside me, supporting my body frame

"More scar, eh?" Obsidian commented. Hindi ako umimik sa kanilang dalawa and they knew something was wrong. Well, looking at their faces, they thought of that. Ayoko lang silang kausapin

Obsidian sighed "Olivia and I investigated this incident. It wasn't Lysandro, if you're thinking that. It was our own grandmother who ordered the gunman to kill you"

I remained a blank expression but I was boiling in anger. I hate it. How can she do it to her own granddaughter?!

"Leave..." is all I can say. The two sisters nodded and left. Elaina tried to leave as well but I pulled her close to me

"Octavia...? You okay, baby?"

And then I cried in her arms. I was too tired to force myself not to cry. I hugged her close "Hush, baby. It's okay. You're safe now"

Everything that I bottled up finally crashed down. Seeing Elaina so close to danger, I couldn't help but feel scared

Nakakatakot ang trabaho ko ngunit kaya kong protektahan si Elaina ngunit hanggang kailan? Hindi ko alam kung kailan aatake ang mga kalaban ko at wala na kong mapagkakatiwalaan
