Chapter 23: We Meet Again

The next day ay nakapasok na ako kasama si Octavia. She informed me na lilipat daw kami ng bahay and I don't know why but Mom said she would like to stay sa Mafia Mansion due to her giving us some privacy and taking care of the reapers, which Octavia retorted that there will be someone taking care of them pero she insisted she'll stay. Mas kampante ako na doon muna siya hangga't galit na galit ang ama ko dahil mapoprotektahan siya ng mga reapers doon. I kinda liked that she became a mother figure there, makes the reapers look like lost puppies

Today I was standing side by side with Octavia, wearing her poker face while talking to the principal. The same principal that removed me from being president now reinstating me back. After he was done talking, tinignan ko si Octavia "What do you think?" tanong ko. Tinignan naman niya ako ng makahulugan "It's your choice, Elaina" aniya as I smiled at her

Tinignan ko naman ang principal namin "I'll take the spot pero si Octavia ang magiging secretary ko" nakangiti kong sabi

Both of them looked at me with wide eyes. I looked at Octavia as she shook her head ngunit nagsalita na ang principal "Sure, I guess I'll manage it. You can now leave" sagot nito as we left his office

"Hon, me? As your secretary?!" hindi makaniwalang sabi ni Octavia as I smiled "Why? Ayaw mong makasama ang wife mo?" I asked. She looked away "Hindi naman sa ganoon. Baka isipin ng iba masyado mo kong pinapaboran-"

"To hell to what they think, wifey. Secretary kita okay? Tsaka mas maganda yon. Kapag nasa meeting ako kasama kita, hindi na ko maiistress na baka may lumalandi sayong iba" she smirked "Ahh so that's the reason you wanted me as your secretary~" ani ni Octavia. I matched her smirk with my gaze "Yes, princess, I want you to stay by my side"

Nawala ang ngiti niya as she nodded "Yes, Ma'am" Octavia spoke softly. Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya at hinatak siya sa classroom namin

After classes, I excused myself kay Elaina to buy at a women's store. I was going to surprise her and it would be nice if I do this by me going outside and not ordering someone to buy it for me

I wore a mask dahil kilalang kilala na ko dito sa Pilipinas and I am glad that the people I come across walk pass me 

Fuck yeah

I entered the store and I saw that only VIPs are inside which is good. Hindi ko pa rin tinanggal ang mask ko dahil alam kong gugustuhin nilang makipagclose sa akin

However, I was surprised to see that one of the VIPs is my biological mother who has her head low and looked embarrassed...?

Tinignan ko ang matandang babae na para bang pinapagalitan siya at may kasamang babaeng mukhang espasol

"I am really wondering how my son Anthony chose you to be his wife. Look at you! Mas maganda talaga kung si Valerie ang napangasawa ng anak ko" ani nito habang ngumiti ang babaeng espasol sa tabi niya

Margaret Aumberden and Valerie Pauley. Yung isa ay yung ina ni Julian Anthony Aumberden na asawa ni Athena Leontine Valmont Aumberden habang si Valerie ay ex nung Anthony. Damn, who's mother even hangs out with his son's ex?

Ah yes, Anthony's mother, why did I even ask?

"Mama, mukhang sumusobra na po kayo" mahinang sabi ni Athena as I walked pass them and looked for clothes na ireregalo ko kay Elaina

"Oo nga naman, Mama, napakasensitive naman kasi ng napangasawa ni Anthony. Buti pa ko" I can tell that Valerie is a lot younger than Athena and to be clear, hindi tunay na anak ni Athena ang tinukoy ko nung isang araw

"Pwede ba tumahimik ka na lang?" naiiritang sabi ni Athena kay Valerie as the two women looked surprised

"Oh c'mon, Athena, hindi ba't inahas mo lang si Anthony kaya ikinasal kayo at naging model ka sa Hollywood? Malamang galing ka lang sa mahirap na pamilya. O baka naman nakilala ka ni Anthony sa mga club, you being a slut" sagot ni Valerie at tumawa

"Sumosobra ka na talaga ah?! Pwede ba manahimik ka?!" sigaw ni Athena as Margaret slapped her

"Wala kang karapatan na sigawan ang dapat na manugang ko! Anong karapatan mong gawin yon ha?!" sigaw naman nito habang pinaghahampas si Athena. The people inside where gossiping and watching this dramatic scene

Margaret was going to slap Athena again pero hinawakan ko na ang kamay niya. I wasn't going to interfere. She deserved it after all those years but this damn daughter instinct of mine just wants to stop seeing this stupid scene

"Stop making a scene, you old hag" I spoke as the three women looked shocked "At sino ka?!" sigaw nito sa akin

"I am the daughter of this woman you just slapped, you bitch" sagot ko kay Margaret

"Ugh, guards, ilabas niyo na nga yang dalawang yan! Mga asal basura!" utos ni Valerie as both the guards of the store started marching towards me and Mama

"You're making a terrible mistake" ani ko as I removed my mask which surprised all of them. There were people gathering outside with their phones recording us

"Ha?! Si Octavia?! Anak ni Athena?!"

"Pano nangyari yon?!"

"OMG, si Octavia Valmont at Athena Aumberden, mag-ina?!"

"O-Octavia Valmont...?" both woman stuttered as I glared at them "What right do you have to yell and hurt a Valmont? Moreover, that Valmont is my mother na anak ni Benedict Valmont at Minako Ichikawa" sinigawan ko sila. Well, revenge, she yelled at me

Tinignan ko si Mama "Okay ka lang, Ma?" I asked. She was still surprised but nodded. Tinignan ko naman sila "My mother's face is bruised. Ano kayang mas magandang gawin sa inyo? Ipapakulong ko kayo for assault or paghahampasin ko kayo ng todo dahil sa ginawa niyo sa Mama ko?" I could see that they grew scared at my threats habang hinawakan naman ni Mama ang braso ko

I took my phone out and called the police "Hello? Yes, I would like to report an assault. Please do come here to FemCo Store. Thank you very much" at binaba ang tawag

"M-Miss Octavia, please wag naman sanang mapunta pa sa ganito..." nagmamakaawang sabi ni Valerie at lumuhod. I chuckled "You called my mother names at ngayon nagmamakaawa ka? Why? Will it damage your modelling career? Kawawa ka naman kung ganoon"

Dumating ang mga pulis at dinampot ang dalawang bruha. I was surprised to see Detective Dawson leading the simple operation

"Miss Valmont, we meet again" bati niya 

"Detective Dawson, spying on me again?" bati ko sa kanya at nawala naman ang ngiti niya sandali. She glanced at Mama "Mrs. Aumberden, it's actually surprising to see you here with Miss Valmont" ani ni Detective Dawson

"She's actually my mother" Nanlaki naman ang mata niya and laughed awkwardly "I see. Well, sorry for these two interrupting your shopping. We'll leave na" he bowed and left

"Nak...?" she slowly spoke at tinignan ko siya. That's when I realized something

Fuck, why did I refer to her as "Mama" and "My mother"?!
