The morning was mournful as usual; the white-bright burning sun shining on the brown, dried ground. There was a bustle of people as the men moved for the War while the women scrounged for scraps of food and cloth while the children had no choice but to follow them. A foreboding guarded woman, looking down at the road, walked straight forwards, gazed across a small girl on her knees, crying for food. She discreetly threw a $20 note on her lap, not observing the elated and tearful look in the girl's eyes.

Natalia Alianovna Romanova alias Natalie Allison Rushman, red hair hidden under a secured bleach blonde wig, tucked under a beige hat, dressed in a muted green blouse with an eggshell-coloured skirt and cream flats. She carried a brown handbag, consisting of files on the key targets, blueprints of the classified facilities, a handgun, blood-red lipstick laced with untracebale poison to kill, a fatal taser and a cyanide pill in the unlikely yet possible case she was comprised.

KGB had sent her to observe the Project Rebirth and derail it before any successful result follows, transferring all intelligence back. Operation Black Widow was determined to create a new generation of assassins which could be immortalised for centuries and far more superior than any other. She was given unlimited time, yet there was a condition which made her nearly laugh out loud.

'Under no circumstances ever, should you fall for any of the subjects in this operation. You are going off the grid. No communication will take place without us contacting first. And if you break, you will be stripped naked, flogged, and hung in front of all the Soviets.'

Love was a mere illusion; how do people actually know they are in love? Because their hearts soar when they see them? It's not a healthy sign for your body. Someone you can trust wholeheartedly? No one truly does. It is a lie children are told so that there is a tiny of light in this cruel world. People say bad people go to hell when they die. They are wrong. We are in hell.

Turning left, she made her way through a dusty apartment building, The Serenity, reached the second floor, picked the lock and pushed the eighth door on the left open. All her arrangements including her Social Security Number, birth certificate, background, and education was fabricated and registered. She was now a new person. Born 24th December 1919 in Flushing, Queens; parents Joanna and Harold Rushman, now deceased. Mother passed due to TB and father K.I.A. Only child. Studied in Queens college from 1937. Graduated in 1941. Only relative, mother's sister in comatose.

Natalia adjusted and stayed in the apartment for three days, keeping her head low before walking out to tour her neighbourood. People minded their own business, hurried in and out of their homes to make a living. 8 floors, 8 rooms per floor, 50 families, 2-5 children, absent fathers, older brothers and sons and sole tenants were widows and discharged soldiers. None of them cared that a new woman had moved in.
