plot : sunoo had always had feelings for his best friend. some may even say that his best friend is his first love. but sunoo never once confessed his feelings for his best friend, not wanting to risk the bond between them.

have you ever had feelings for someone that you're close to and didn't want to tell them in case it ruined things between you and them?

well that's what sunoo has been dealing with for years. you see, sunoo had this best friend that he's very close with. they've been friends for years and we're always together. at first, they were only just friends. sunoo never thought he'd end up liking them. after all they were just best friends right?

wrong. sunoo did end up catching strong feelings towards his own best friends. he didn't mean to, it just happened! he swears that he didn't know how or why it happened. his feelings for them just suddenly changed one day and he's never been the same since.

now before we dive into his feelings and how he feels towards his dear best friend, let's start from the very beginning.

you see, sunoo has always been a cheerful and kind person. everyone around him loved him. he was always so kind and spread positivity. he practically lit up every room he walked into! something sunoo always loved to do was make new friends. sunoo was practically a social butterfly.

so one day, a person joined his class in the middle of the year. right away, sunoo wanted to be friends with them. so what did he do? he went up to the new person and talked to them, asking them what their name was and where they're from, etc. you get the point.

it didn't take long for the two to become friends. the more time they spent together, the closer they got. by the end of the school year, they were practically best friends! years and years passed and still, they remained as best friends.

now you may be asking, "when did sunoo start catching feelings?".

well that's something he couldn't even answer himself. like it was said, his feelings for his best friend suddenly changed out of nowhere. but if someone were to ask him when it exactly started, he would say sometime during high school.

all sunoo can remember is that on a particular day, his best friend held his hand as they walked across the street. usually sunoo didn't mind this action (as they always held hands from time to time). but for some reason, he felt his heart jump. this didn't go unnoticed by sunoo. he felt weird for feeling this way but a part of him enjoyed it.

he loved how warm their hand felt in his. he loved the way they were rubbing his thumb into his knuckle. anything they were doing, he loved it.

he tried stopping himself from feeling this way but he couldn't!

from then, sunoo's feelings towards his best friend changed.

every time they laughed, sunoo couldn't help but smile. every time they gave him a hug, his heart leaped with joy. every time they complimented sunoo, he couldn't help but feel flustered.

at first he thought this was just a small crush. he thought it would go away in no time and things would go back the way they were before. but once again, kim sunoo was wrong.

in fact, his feelings continued to grow more and more. it went to the point where it was starting to get hard to hide his feelings for them. after having a crush on his best friend for 3 years, he wanted to confess but he didn't.

some may say "just confess to get it over with" or "if they don't feel the same, you can just move on". but that's not what sunoo was thinking about. he kept thinking about his friendship with them and how his feelings may affect his friendship after confessing. what if he confessed his feelings and they stopped being friends with him? what if they thought he was weird for liking them when they were just friends?

all these thoughts caused sunoo to keep his feelings to himself. he thought that by doing this, it would help their friendship. he thought that if he didn't confess, everything between them would be fine. so for the next year, he kept his feelings to himself. everything was perfectly fine that way. they remained super close while sunoo hid his true feelings about his best friend.

everything was perfectly fine until that day. the day where his heart broke.

his best friend went to see sunoo, looking so happy. happier than usual. very happy as in they couldn't stop smiling so much. this weirded sunoo out. not in a bad way but in a "why are you so happy?" way.

so he asked them. he asked why they were so happy since they were smiling so much. after asking that question, his best friend couldn't contain themselves. they confessed everything to him. they confessed that they've been talking to this person and that person had finally asked them out and they said yes.

hearing this from your best friend, you would be happy for them. but for sunoo, it was the opposite. he felt his heart drop when he heard all of this. he hated how he felt so upset at what they just told him. he didn't know how to respond so he just gave them a big smile while saying that he's happy for them.

his best friend continued talking about the person they're now with while sunoo sat there, wearing a fake smile to hide his pain.

he felt hurt, so hurt. he didn't like that he felt so sad when they told him this. i mean, he wanted to know why they were happy right? he got what he asked for right? sunoo had only wished that they can just move onto another topic but he couldn't do anything but sit there while his best friend, the person he had feelings for, talked about someone they're happy with that isn't him.

he wanted them to just stop talking and realize that he's sad but he didn't want them to be upset. he so badly just wanted to tell them that he liked them but he didn't want to make things awkward or ruin things between them. in this very moment, sunoo wished that things went differently. that he confessed his true feelings for them. that his best friend shared the same feelings as him. that him and his best friend had ended up together.

all he can do was wish things had went differently. but what can he do? in the end, they were only best friends.

new update after like a month. im so sorry for not updating in a bit, i was just busy finishing up with school but now i'm done with school!! for this update, i (for some reason) wanted to write something sad so i whipped this up!

not my best work but it's not terrible either. to me, it's okay. could've done better but i think it turned out alright. anyways, i hope you all enjoyed this update! sorry if there are any grammar mistakes or parts that don't make sense, i literally wrote this at 1 or 2am lol

also, happy pride month everyone!!!! i love each and every one of you the same. remember to NOT be ashamed for who you are, who you choose to love, or who/what you identify as. we're all humans at the end of the day, so choose what you want to do with your life. cause in the end it isssss your life. I LOVE YOU ALL 💗
