The trip to Manhattan General Hospital was uneventful and filled with awkwardness as Racetrack and Anastasia had not spoken all morning. Spot had been keeping an eye on them annoyingly waiting for Racetrack to make the first move.

They had made it to the first floor hallway, right before the elevator, as Spot turns toward them blocking their path.

Anastasia reaches Jack's room as he's busy eating lunch or what passes for lunch in a hospital.

Okay whats the matta with that? Race has had a thing for ya for two years. Jack looks at Anastasia offering her to sit down in the chair next to his bed.

This is about that Adam Banks from Minnesota. He begins to turn red. Youse act real different when ya with them.

Anastasia grabs her phone a dials Adam Banks as tears roll down her face.

It finally picks up on the last ring. Hey Ana
you okay?

I guess her voice cracks as she wipes her tears, I was just calling to see how you were doing?

Are you sure?...Oh I'm doing okay, just hanging out with the Ducks... Connie and Julie say they miss you.

Not really but it will be okay. Tell them I miss them too. I think I'm going to come home on tomorrow night, Jack is doing better.

We should hang out after school Thursday Adam blurts nervously playing with his hockey stick.

Anastasia begins the walk back to the Fortes house alone as her phone rings revealing a familiar number. She knew she probably shouldn't answer it but something in the back of her mind was pulling her closer to him.
