Someone to You | Choni

chapter 17

Toni was sitting in a dorm room with the door closed all by herself. She hadn't had a chance to count what came in the duffel bag and she thought that now was her chance since everyone else was gone.

As Toni flipped through the money, the math in her head didn't seem right. So, she counted again. And then again until she realized what was going on.

"Those bitches shorted me." Toni said to herself as she threw all the money back in and zips the bag back up.

She paces through the room trying to think of what else to do.

"They think I wouldn't notice or what?" Toni says softly to herself, trying to gather her thoughts.

Toni let's out a manic laugh before exiting the dorm and leaving the bag behind.

She reaches the cafeteria where all the students and faculty are sitting down in silence.

She looks around and goes over to Beatriz and whispers to her as she looks at the injured.

"We should change the wrappings on the injured hostages. It's been a few days and most of them have bled through now."

Beatriz looks to Toni and Toni just gives her a smile.

Before nodding her head in agreement, she let out a sigh.

"Those of you who have bandaging on, gather around Toni and I so that she can give you new wrapping." Beatriz yelled out.

The few injured hostages, including Cheryl, stood up and quietly formed a crowd around Toni.

Toni lead them all to the dorm where they had previously been in as Beatriz guarded the crowd behind, leaving the two ghoulie men to guard the rest of the hostages in the cafeteria.

Toni started with everyone who had the major injuries first, removing their wrappings and applying a new one. Beatriz stood by the door with her pistol in her hand as she guarded the room. Cheryl was the last one to go.

Toni and Cheryl stole a couple glances that didn't go unnoticed by Beatriz.

Just as Cheryl was getting treated, everyone heard a shot fire in the direction of the hostages in the cafeteria. Toni and Beatriz's head shot up at the sound and immediately Beatriz opened up the dorm.

"I'm gonna go check that out." Beatriz told Toni.

By this point, everyone could hear screams as well.

Toni nodded at Beatriz.

"Ok.. And take them too!" Toni pointed with her eyes at the gaurds that were finished getting treated.

Beatriz shook her head, not wanting to leave Cheryl and Toni alone.

"Take them, Bea. And hurry to go check out what's going on out there." Toni said in a serious tone.

"Fine."

Beatriz finally obliged and take the gaurds back to the cafeteria as she rushed to go check the scene.

Cheryl and Toni were left alone. As Toni was just focused on treating the redheaded woman, Cheryl just couldn't help but stare right at her.

After Toni had finished the wrapping, Toni looked up at the pale woman in front of her to find their eyes meeting.

Toni hadn't realized that she kept a grip on Cheryl's hand.

Cheryl immediately stood up, shaking her fantasies and switching back to reality.

Toni watched her as the pale woman walked to the other side of the dorm.

Cheryl turned to look at Toni.

"Why me?" Cheryl asked.

Toni looked down before standing up and coming towards Cheryl.

A silence for a couple minutes filled the room.

"If I had known that the little shack in the woods would've led me here, I would have never came in."

Cheryl looked into Toni's eyes after her confession.

"I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt anyone." Toni admitted.

The redhead shook her head, her eyes beginning to water.

"You already have."

Toni's eyes saddened a slight bit as she looked at Cheryl.

Cheryl looked down, unable to look at Toni any longer. Her light sobs lingering in the back of her throat. She noticed Toni walking towards her. She could see her shoes right across from her own at this point. She knew how close they were at this moment.

"I hate you." Cheryl spat, lifting her head up to look at the woman who is inches away.

As the pale woman stared at the brunette, she couldn't help but let out a cry thinking of everything that this serpent had put her and everyone else she's knows and loves through the last few days.

Toni took it upon herself to wrap her arms around the pale woman, trying to embrace her for a hug.

Once Cheryl felt Toni's touch, she calmed her cries and had stopped completely.

"I'm sorry." The brunette apologized as she embraced the pale woman tightly.

Cheryl hesitated to reciprocate. But she slowly wrapped her arms around the serpent. Her hands lingering up and down the brunettes back.

The redhead felt the weapon that Toni always hid in the back, between her pants.

Cheryl caught a grip of the weapon and pulled it out, pushing Toni off her and backing up to aim the firearm right at Toni.

Cheryl was inexperienced with this weapon, so her hands were shaky as she aimed the gun just at Toni's face, not aiming anywhere specific just at the tanned woman.

Toni looked right at Cheryl as she held the gun up to her. She could see her shaky hands. Toni backed up a bit, shocked at the fact that she was even doing this.

"Let us out." Cheryl demanded.

"I can't do that, yet. But, I have a plan." Toni shortly responded right after.

"Let us go. Now!"

"I know you have the power to." The redhead added.

"It's much more complicated than that, Cheryl." Toni said in a calm tone.

"Trust me."

Toni didn't panic at all at this scene. She was so use to things like this happening, that it just didn't faze her anymore.

The two women looked eyes, Toni's dark brown orbs, abnormally calm as Cheryl's showed fear and anxiety.

"I don't believe you and how could I ever trust you?" Cheryl scoffed.

"Just let us go, or I'll kill you all my damn self and get us out of here." Cheryl told the tanned woman.

Cheryl's finger was placed right on the trigger. Her hands slightly less shaky by this point as she had seemed so serious about it all.

"Cheryl, you know you wouldn't do that."

"You're not capable of hurting anyone." Toni admitted, in a soft voice.

Cheryl caught her breath as she held the gun right in front of Toni.

Cheryl's heart was beating rapidly as she tried to find another solution because she knew that she wasn't like this.

But in this moment, she found nothing else that would help more than just eliminating them all.

With that thought, she brought her finger to pull the trigger as she aimed directly at Toni.
