You two did take it too far. You were wondering how long he can restrain himself but apparently his restraints weren't that much to hold himself back. Levi can be, after all, a very impatient man. In contrast with being humanity's strongest soldier, his restraints on himself weren't that strong.

One afternoon, a day before he was scheduled to go back to the Headquarters, it was raining. The rain had fallen earlier that morning and hadn't stopped since and the sun that was hidden behind the dark clouds made the surroundings become darker much too early before nightfall.

The rain was not heavy, there was no thunder and lightning, if anything the rain put you in a cozy feeling that you wanted to lie on the bed all afternoon with a thick blanket around your shoulders and a warm cocoa in hand while you watch the hearth with flames dancing, making the room warmer.

Levi on the other hand, you noticed, is looking outside the windows as he sat on the chair. His steel gray eyes watching the raindrops falling on the glass window with a somber expression while he's holding a mug of warm tea in hand, the steam rising from it before Levi took a small sip and then looked out the window again.

You unwrapped the blanket before climbing down the bed and wrapping it around your shoulders again. You walked towards Levi who didn't seem to notice you until you spoke in a hush tone as though scared to break the stillness in the air.
