Erwin stayed at the residence even after Hange and Mike left, the two said they would come visit again some time before they left that afternoon. You knew there was something they didn't want to tell you, judging by their attempts to change the topic of the conversation whenever you asked about the Expedition. But whatever it is they didn't want to tell you, you understood it was for the better.

Hange did tell you not to worry about anything else but yourself and the baby, that you should focus on recovering first more than anything. Even though you wanted to know what happened during the Expedition, you decided not to ask further because true to what she said, you need to focus on getting back your strength.

Ms. Florence also came that afternoon to check up on you and left before supper, even though you offered her dinner she kindly refused with a smile and left. That night, while you were breastfeeding the baby, you couldn't help but wonder about what your husband and brother were talking about at that moment, but then your thoughts shifted when the baby moved in your arms and you looked down.

"Done already?" you asked, pulling your night dress up on your shoulder as you held the baby. "Here, you can sleep in mama's arms, Ms. Florence said the body produces the most warmth, and you need warmth more than anyone else."
