"Hurry, quick, this way." I pulled my little siblings behind me by their hand while also packing another "they went that way!" I looked behind me to see them catching up fast "mamá take Mateo." I tossed him to her and she caught him as I picked up Esperanza "Eva keep up ok princesa?" She nodded "hurry and hide right there." Our mother hid us all in a small secluded spot a long ways away from any trail or clearing "stay here ok?" I nodded as did the others "I love you mi bebés." She hugged me then placed a kiss on each of the others heads.

"Get back here you thieves!" A group of men ran by us not long after our mother ran off then we heard her scream and the men walked by again "that was such a clean cut how sharp is that thing?" They were all laughing "obviously sharp enough to decapitate someone." He elbowed one of the others as he chuckled and thats when I saw the blood on the sword "where do you think her children went?" Mateo whimpered and I placed my hand over his mouth while shushing him "its ok. Its ok." I kissed the top of his head as it became a waiting game now.

Several months later

"Y/n, wonderful performance as always." I smiled "gracias señor." He handed me some money "I know things are hard for you and your siblings right now, so me and mamá wanted you to have this." I looked at it "Mariano this is too much...I can't take all of this." I went to hand it back "keep it Y/n, we insist." Mrs. Guzman folded my fingers over the money "but-" she shushed me "be quiet deary. I know you don't want it, but you need it. Keep Mateo, Eva, and Esperanza in mind." I looked away from her "ok, I will. Gracias, once again." After they walked off I counted it and sighed, they really didn't need to give this to me.

It was getting close to the evening now and people kept giving me money no matter how much I refused it, so I decided that was enough for today. "Are you going to dance anymore?" I jumped at the sudden voice behind me and stuck my hand over my heart as I looked for whoever said that "I uh..." a tall girl with broad shoulders smiled at me almost shyly "I didn't mean to scare you." She came over and helped me pick up the things I dropped when she scared me "no no its alright. I just wasn't expecting anyone else to be here this late still." We both stood up and she held out my things to me "I seen you talking with the Guzmans...how do you know them?" I went to answer her when I heard someone call what I was guessing was her name "COMING ABUELA!" She apologized for shouting then left and I wondered who she was because I've never seen her before.

The best thing I could do to find out about her was go to the Guzmans place. "Hola Y/n, how are you tonight?" She was always so kind to me "im alright señora. If you dont mind I have some questions about someone." She opened her door further and allowed me and my siblings to enter "who is it?" I ran my hand through my hair "I dont know. I think her Abuela called her Lu-Lui-Luisa?" She gave me the biggest smile "ah so you've finally met a Madrigal." I shrugged "I guess...I feel dumb for asking this, but who are the Madrigals?" She hummed "its a long story. You want to know now?" The smaller two of my siblings were instantly at my side "story time!" We both chuckled at them "sure, if you dont mind señora." She didn't mind and told us everything. In the middle of the story though my siblings fell asleep.

"You can leave them here mija. I dont mind having them. Take a break for once." I let out a long sigh "are you sure? I feel like they'd be intruding and-" she pulled me into a hug "domt worry about it mija. Mariano loves them and they love him. He can help you put them in beds for me." I hugged her back then grabbed Mateo as Mariano picked up Eva then I went back for Esperanza.

"Have a good night mija. Get as much rest as you need." She was just so kind to me, to us, from the moment we arrived here after climbing those mountains. "You too señora Guzman." She shut the door behind me and I felt lost without my siblings there.

I didn't know if I wanted to go home or not since it wasn't that late, so I settled on exploring Encanto more. "Y/n! Hola, what are you doing out at this time?" I shrugged "I don't really know. Exploring I gu-oof." I hit the ground on my belly after landing on my hands/wrists fairly hard "what did I trip on?" As I got up with the help of Osvdo and looked for what I tripped on I also seen my one wrist swelling up. "Oi we should get you to Julieta." Who was that? "Uh...ok?" Ok so Mrs. Guzman explained alot, but not that far into detail.
