"Have you even thought about what you're doing to her?" Coleman asked, his voice pregnant with sudden emotion that surprised Nikolas. There was a sadness underlying his anger. "You've been telling everyone how she is merely a friend. That's what you told me, isn't it? And yet, clearly she's more than that. I don't believe Cassie is the type to get into a 'friends with benefits' sort of relationship. She likes you a lot. Obviously. And who can blame her with the way you've led her on? And yet, you are going to leave her high and dry for some princess. You care too much about the crown to pursue anything serious with Cassie—you and I both know it. And when you cast her to the wayside, it is going to break her heart. So again, I ask you, what do you think you're doing?"
