SYLVIE INDRATH
"I bid you goodnight Lady Sylvie," said Windsom as he bowed and left my room.
I stared out the window at the starry sky. It's nothing like the place called "Earth" in Arthur's memories. There are thousands of more stars all arranged into beautiful patterns. I looked out at the beautiful mountains that surrounded the Indrath castle. The trees had beautiful leaves, long thin and pink, almost like a snake. I don't think there is any place on this planet that can compete.
I've been here for about 3 years. Everyday I train and train to get stronger. I'm not forced to, I train because I want to. I want to find Arthur again, I haven't told grandfather this, but I still consider Arthur my real dad. If he learned I still felt like that I have no doubts he would kill Arthur.
Thanks to my training, I have been able to unlock my human form. I use my scales to create a small black dress, and I have long wheat colored hair and golden eyes. My skin is pale like most dragons, but my horns are still present, which is something that does not occur in the human forms of other dragons. I've asked who my biological father is but grandmother told me that it's too early for me to know.
I've also tried my hand in swordsmanship, learning mostly thanks to Arthur's memories. It's hard, his memories are slowly fading away from me so I struggle every day to keep them with me. Grandfather caught me practicing one day and praised me for my abilities despite not being taught yet. I wonder how he'll react to finding out he praised the swordsmanship of a "lesser". I giggled at the image.
I thought back to my short time with Arthur and Tess. It was the best time of my life, much better than my time here. Here, I was subjected to the constant presence of loneliness looming over my head. There was that one pantheon boy named Taci who Grandfather introduced me to, he said I should forge a connection with him since he'll be a powerful asset in the future.
I hated him though, he was arrogant and self-centered. He reminded me of the Wykes brat, I think the only difference is that their arrogance stems from different places. Lucas got his from trying to let himself be known to the world while Taci was like that because of his talent, and the arrogance born from that talent is what will lead him to his downfall. He was a pitiful person, if he was even 1% as humble and compassionate like Arthur is I think I could withstand him, at least for a while.
Thankfully, Aldir is kind enough to tell me updates on the war, since no one else wants to. Grandfather didn't order him not to, just implied it, so it is perfectly fine for him to tell me. I honestly question his loyalty to my grandfather. The main reason for that is he's helping me plan my escape. I want to go back to Dicathen, back to Arthur and Tessia.
Now that I'm older, I finally understand what happened that day. I was confused back then, I wanted to know why everyone was afraid of Arthur. I thought his past life was cool, well, not the life itself but rather how cool it was that he was from another world. I thought it was something to be proud of, something to relish. How wrong I was.
I want to go back and ask them why, but I already know the answer. They were afraid, he's a 30 year old man in a child's body. I guess that would be shocking for everyone, but I was expecting them to only hesitate, not treat him as a stranger. But I guess I was just a hopeful child.
"You can come in now, Aldir," I said, as I leaned on the balcony. I heard the door to my room open and the familiar three eyed asura.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Lady Sylvie?" Aldir asked with a tone of concern.
"I never asked my grandfather if I could leave, which means he never said I couldn't. I'm just doing what's within my rights," I said with a slight smile. Aldir just sighed at my childish actions but didn't say anything. "Very well, come with me."
