AT THE library, the three girls hop out the car, "okay, so help us get this straight." Robin says, Val also just as curious as she was, glancing to the other side of the taller girl. "Eddie's uncle, Wayne, thinks that Victor Creel escaped from Pennhurst Asylum and that he's the one running around Hawkins committing all these murders?" The Buckley finished her question as Nancy looked over at them, forcefully smiling. "Pretty much." She answers.

"But Victor committed the eyeball murders, like, way back in the '50s." Val looks at Nancy as her and Robin opened up the doors, Robin letting her girlfriend go first. "Well, '59." The girl corrected, glancing back at them. "So, that means these murders predate Eleven in the Upside Down by about 30 years."  Val says, following Nancy as Robin follows behind her.

"Yeah." The girl replied curtly as Val went to stand at the counter beside her, crossing her arms. "Which makes spooky Victor Creel like 70 years old." Robin says as she came to stand on the other side of Valerie who glanced around. "Yep." Nancy chimes the bell on the countertop. "So, he's a grandpa murderer who can turn invisible and lift people into the air." Robin says, her arms ontop of the counter with her chin on the palm of her hand.

"It doesn't make sense. I know." Nancy looks at Robin, then glanced away. "That's why I said it was a shot in the dark." She then chimes the bell again making Val roll her eyes and glance at Robin. "I know. I just thought that by shot in the dark, you were being modest or hiding something super solid up your sleeve that you were gonna wow us with later. But this is really, truly a shot in the dark. Like we are snipers with blindfolds who've been spun around 50 times." Robin says and Nancy just gets more annoyed, ringing the bell even rapidly.

"Wheeler, chill. You'll break it." Val says with a vile tone as a woman shouted out she was coming. "Hi. Sorry, we're in a bit of a rush. Could we get the keys to the basement archives?" Nancy asked, smiling sweetly as Val rolls her eyes, glancing at the librarian. "Of course. Give me one sec." She replied.

"Did I come off mean or condescending or something?" Robin asked Nancy suddenly making Val look at her. "No." Nancy says, glancing away quickly. "Right. Sorry. It's just, you seem annoyed. You don't know me very well. I don't really have a filter or a strong grasp of social cues." Robin explains and Val steps in between them. "Rob, don't bother. She's just pissy she thinks you're dating Steve." She said straight up making Nancy look at her all flustered. "What? No, I don't!" She denied quickly making Val look at her.

"You treated me the same way for the past two years despite the fact we used to be friends." Val says, crossing her arms and Nancy just glanced between the two girls. "You've always been the same though, haven't you?" She forcefully smiles this time, the same way Nancy always does. "Alright, here you go, ladies. Have fun." The woman held out the keys and Valerie took them quickly. "We'll have so much fun, right, Nance?" She said, walking around the girl as she heads towards the basement door.

Robin just sends the librarian a look when Nancy just followed after Val, letting out a soft sigh. In the basement, the girls search through archives, Robin and Val together on one side with Nancy on the opposite side of them.

"Does she really think I'm with Steve?" Robin murmured quietly to Val who softly shrugs. "No one saw us kiss at Starcourt, she probably didn't, so that's why she thinks so." She whispers back to Robin, turning her head a bit to the other. "Why does she care? Isn't she with Jonathan?" She whispers back and Val shrugs. "Don't know, don't care." She turns back to the screen displaying the newspapers.

"Anything... informative over there?" Val now asked, turning away from the newspaper Robin was scrolling through. "Nothing new." The Wheeler replies with that tone again so Val just sighs. "Yep. Same here..." Robin spoke before Val can say something mean. "Victor seemed like a normal guy. Dead family, missing eyes, took a plea deal, sent to Pennhurst. Blah, blah, blah, blah." The Buckley says.

"What are we looking for, exactly?" Robin asked and Val had the same question, looking to the other side where Nancy sat. There's no response. "Nancy? Nancy." Valerie repeated twice then the other girl finally leans to the side, looking at them. "Any mentions of dark wizards or alternate dimensions perhaps?" Val asked, tilting her head slightly.

"Things in that vein?" Robin says, gesturing and Nancy looks down. "I don't know. Okay? It's starting to seem like this was just a big waste of time." The girl stood up. "You're both obviously bored, so why don't you just both call Steve? I'm sure he'll come pick you up. And I mean, I'm not really in danger here, so..." Nancy gestured around the room and Val stood up.

"Or would you rather be here with Steve?" She asked, sounding annoyed. "What?" Nancy exclaims and Val scoffs. "Whatever, Wheeler, maybe you're right. We will call Steve and we'll gladly leave you behind here." She nods and Nancy sighs, turning away to head to grab more from the archives as Robin quickly stood up. "Val, what was that? Why are you--" "what?! She's getting on my nerves." Valerie sighed and crossed her arms.

"Well, now you need to go apologize..." Robin says, grabbing her shoulders. "That was kind of a bitchy move, I love you, I really do, like, with my whole entire heart, but you need to give Nance a break. She's been through a lot, just like you. You can't hold her breaking Steve's heart against her." She says and Val just sighs quietly. "It has been two years..." She whispers and Robin just nods softly.

"Besides, maybe her and Steve--" "no. Never. Do not ever say words like that ever again to me, Buckley, or we're done." She says, smiling widely. "Got it?" She says and Robin just sighs. "But Steve deserves to be happy, like us, don't you think?" She asked and Val shrugs. "Totally... just not with her. Someone new. You know what would be a good example?" She pointed at Robin who raised a brow.

"Eddie! He's single, nice, funny, plays guitar, is a little kooky and totally bring Steve out of his usual element as the annoying rich kid who used to be pretentious and cared about reputation." She said and Robin nods. "I see it. Sorry for bringing up him and Nancy being together again. I take it back, now go apologize to Nance." She pointed to the door.

"Fine..."
