Eyes not to be trusted

I sat at the unmarred dining table, on one of the grey chairs nearest to the white wall, whilst the raven-haired was resting in front of the functioning television. All of the lights were off, and relied on the television to take their shifts. My selected seat had given me a view of both Mammon, and the clear vase of tulips. Red and orange. I had used my powers to preserve them—they would feel, and smell like flowers, but would be unable to decay. Like the memory of us, in the forest, uniting.

Ezekiel
You're saying that Mammon
punched someone?
²³·⁴³

Lukie
Yeah, and that someone
was a demi
²³·⁴⁴

Ezekiel
Please. You're joking?
²³·⁴⁴

Lukie
God, I wish I was. His name
is Victor and I'm guessing he's
the youngest
²³·⁴⁵

Ezekiel
You appear to be caught in so
many eventful situations on
Earth. I feel terrible for you :(
²³·⁴⁶

"Who're you texting?" the raven-haired called out from the pewter couch.

"No one in particular," I said dismissively—he seemed to be more riveted by me, rather than the movie.

Lukie
I know right? It always
happens to the unexperienced
²³·⁴⁷

"You sure?"

"Of course." I smiled at him abashedly. Mammon wasn't wearing a shirt, even though the temperatures had nosedived below zero. "Focus on your movie Mammon."

"I can't fuckin' focus when you're all the way over there."

"Do you want me to come closer?"

"Only if you don' want me to die of a lack of attention," he remarked. "My own guardian angel isn' even taking care of me."

I laughed heartily at the deprived demon before I got up, and ambled to the center two-seater, the phone vibrating in my hand as though warning against it. The raven-haired had tweaked the striped blanket, making my side of the couch visible.

"Will this make up for my negligence?" I pecked him on the lips before I plopped myself down against the trellis cushion.

"Jus' make it a bit longer next time, angel." We grinned at each other, and then renewed our activities.

Ezekiel
It really does. I need you to
elaborate on what happened
that day, if it doesn't lessen
your gut.
²³·⁴⁸

It would have been a lot easier to explain, if I had told him the truth about us. But I simply couldn't. I was still due to be ready.

Lukie
He brought me to an alley to
meet with a couple friends.
Victor wanted to talk, so he took
him to the back of the alley. Time
passes, and then I rush to other
side after...hearing someone fall
²³·⁵²

Ezekiel
Anything peculiar about him
in that moment?
²³·⁵²

Mammon's orbs kept flickering between I and the television as I laid back, my calves intruding his lap.

Lukie
He looked...confused Ezekiel.
It was like he didn't know what
happened, and he kept staring
at his hands
²³·⁵³

The raven-haired abruptly jerked the zebra-striped blanket over the other couch before slotting his hips betwixt my legs, and taking my phone, "Okay, seriously. Who the fuck are you texting?"
