In the Batcave...

"In his strange and evil way, the Joker sometimes exhibits a bit of twisted honesty" said Batman.

"Honesty?" said Sam.

"Yes, Sam, honesty. I think we can ignore the first half of the clue, as he suggested, and concentrate on 'look for a bow and bobtails'." said Batman.

"But what do you mean, Batman, twisted honesty?" said Robin.

"He is trying to stump us, isn't he?" said Charles Wallace.

"Let's say he wants us to take his tricky bait the hard way" said Batman.

"Like we did today" said Robin.

"I think I have the solution to that too, Robin. When he was younger, the Joker was a well-known hypnotist" said Batman.

"A hypnotist?" said Sam.

"Holy mesmerism" said Robin.

"Exactly. Catching us off guard and using that ingenious box and key as a temporary diversion, he momentarily had us in his power" said Batman.

"But that's water under the bridge. It's gotta be" said Calvin.

"It must be, Calvin. Now. Look for a bow and bobtails. A bow..." said Batman.

"Bow knot..." said Robin.

"Bow... line?" said Sam.

"Bow... tie?" said Charles Wallace.

"Bow legs?" said Calvin.

"Bo Peep?" said Charles Wallace.

"Rainbow?" said Sam.

"No, I suspect there is some other key to..." Batman began.

"Wait! Key. Of course. The loop of the key, the handle is also called... the bow" said Calvin.

"Alright, Cal!" said Charles Wallace high-fiving his buddy.

"Very good, Calvin. Now. Bobtails" said Batman.

"Bobtailed horse?" said Sam.

"Bobtailed drawbridge?" guessed Robin.

"Bobtailed flush in poker" said Charles Wallace.

"You have spent way too much time playing card games, little buddy" said Calvin.

"Bobtailed... lynx?" said Batman.

"Lynx? Cufflinks? Uh... golf course?" said Robin.

"No, Robin. Lynx. L-Y-N-X. It's a wild cat" said Sam.

"Indeed, Sam. A bobtailed species of wildcat with a valuable fur varying in color..." said Batman.

"That's it!" said Calvin.

"What's it, Calvin?" said Robin.

"The way the Joker emphasized foiled, failed, frustrated and defenseless" said Calvin.

"Sure, Cal, he must have the key somewhere where there's fur" said Sam.

"He must have it to Franchin's Fancy Fur Salon!" said Robin.

"Let's fly!" said Charles Wallace.

"One moment, kids. This requires unusual precaution" said Batman.
