"I'm nervous, I think." She admitted as Melissa finished brushing her hair.

Melissa's reflection in the mirror showed her smile, "You think?" She asked.

Rolling her eyes, Lorelei smiled, "You know what I mean."

Laughing, Melissa started pinning her hair back. "Okay, why are you nervous?"

Letting out an audible breath, Lorelei shook her head (making Melissa grab her head), "Because Potter is going to say something no matter what I do with Sirius. Knowing him, he'll probably ban him from seeing me ever again."

"Well if that happens, maybe you should end the project." Melissa said, purposefully keeping her voice light, "It's already our seventh year, and next year the gossiping circle will be forced to move on from Potter and Black. And you."

Staring at Melissa in the mirror, Lorelei asked, "So you don't think any of this is even worth it?"

She shrugged, keeping her eyes on Lorelei's hair. "I'm only saying maybe this should be your final body paragraph, okay?"

Lorelei hummed in response. Keeping her eyes on the mirror, she shifted her gaze from Melissa to herself.

Once Melissa finished, she stepped back and surveyed her head, "Brilliant. Now you've got to go, or you're going to be late."

Putting on a nervous smile, Lorelei stood and hugged her friend. "Thank you."

Leaving the dorm, Lorelei rushed through the corridors before going outside into the nippy September air. Letting in and out a few deep breaths, making the air in front of her mouth turn cloudy, she finally set off.

Hopefully, this wouldn't be like the last time she asked someone on a date.

Walking slowly, but not too slowly as to lose the crowd of students, Lorelei tried subtly glancing around her for the dark head of hair belonging to Sirius.

The nerves already bubbling in her stomach spread down her legs and arms, making her a little jittery. It didn't help that her feelings felt mixed into the cold air, swirling like a storm of its own around her.

Finally, as the village came into sight, she heard pounding footsteps behind her before someone gently grabbed her on the elbow, "Lorelei," Sirius said breathlessly.

Smiling over at him, she stopped walking, "For a moment there, I thought you'd stood me up." A thought crossed over his eyes, and she knew then they were thinking the same thing. "Luckily," she added quickly, "I was wrong."

Rubbing the back of his neck, Sirius placed his other hand on her back to gently lead her toward the village. "Yes, sorry. I couldn't find my coat anywhere."

"Well with how messy your dorm is, I'm not surprised." She said, chuckling softly.

"What do you mean?"
