"This is not how I wanted to spend my birthday." Lorelei whispered to herself as she clutched the sides of her toilet bowl.

A once pleasant Sunday afternoon had been interrupted by her worst case of morning sickness thus far.

"Lorelei," A voice whispered from behind her. She would've turned around to face James, but she started vomiting again.

Vaguely, she registered him pulling up the hair that had fallen from her sloppy ponytail.

When the gagging stopped, she leaned back. "Harry is trying to kill me."

"Harry is not trying to kill you." James said with a smile, despite the situation.

Lorelei glared at him, "Easy for you to say when he's not making you clutch this toilet for dear life."

"Perhaps," James acknowledged, landing over to kiss her forehead, "Happy birthday, darling."

Humming, Lorelei grabbed the cup of water Melissa had delivered to her before she left for work. Swishing and spitting unfortunately did nothing to dispell the nauseating taste lingering on her tongue. "How are you, James?"

An exhalation that could've been a laugh was her only response for a full minute until he finally answered, "Eventful."

Turning a suspicious eye his way, Lorelei asked, "It's barely two o'clock." She paused, "Where have you been? I know you weren't at work, Sirius called me to complain you called out."

James raised his brows, "Sirius called you?"

Rolling her eyes, Lorelei set her cup back down on the floor, "We are friends, you know. He just assumed you called out on my behalf and since he couldn't get ahold of you, he called me."

"I was getting your birthday present."

"The day of?" Lorelei asked, unimpressed.

Shaking his head, James stood up and held out a hand, "I've been working on it for months, but I finalized every thing this morning."

Hesitantly, she took his hand and allowed him to help her stand, "Alright, Potter, do I have to wait or will you show me now?"

"I can show you now." He answered with a sly smile, still holding her hand. Pulling out his wand, James apparated the both of them to a neighborhood Lorelei didn't immediately recognize. "Close your eyes."

Following his instruction, Lorelei closed her eyes and let James lead her down the street. "Where are we?" She asked as he repositioned her to face the opposite direction.

"Godric's Hollow." James answered.

"The wizarding village?" Lorelei asked, increasingly curious.

"Yes." James answered. The sound of his feet shuffling made Lorelei aware he moved to stand next to her. "Open your eyes."
