You sighed as you glanced out the shop's window, staring at the bright orange light that lit up the room's floor. Your bakery was having a slow day, almost no customers coming by throughout the entirety of the late evening.
Maybe if you hadn't built this place so near the Casino Night Zone, people would bother to come by. Or maybe, just maybe, it was the announcement of Neo Metal Sonic's presence in the Casino.
Apparently, Eggman had a new replacement, Neo Metal Sonic, and he was visiting the Casino today, most likely to do business with the owner, Breezie. Not that you really cared. If anything, it was just scaring away your customers. Maybe even you from the city, if you manage to get in the way of one of those stupid little badniks. You just figured they would be here, as they followed Eggman and his empire wherever he went.
You grumbled in annoyance as you decided to move away from the counter. You made your way to the kitchen, ready to start cleaning up. Clattering filled the shop as you took care of things, moving any dirty dishes to the sink and putting away all of the unused ingredients.
You were so busy in your own thoughts that you didn't process the ringing of the front door.
You stopped to take a breather, leaning your hands onto the counter as you stared at your shoes for a moment.
Wait.
You lifted your head.

A cold, metallic hand clasped around your mouth, stopping any noises coming from your mouth. You felt your heart pick up.
"Don't move."
A deep, soothing voice rang in your ears. Despite how nonchalant the tone sounded, you felt so much hostility coming from it. You felt yourself begin to sweat.
Before you could protest, the loud sound of bustling footsteps interrupted you.
"Where is he?!"
The loud murmuring of a crowd filled your ears.
"Aww, c'mon!! You've got to be kidding me!!"
"I wanted to take some pictures of him!!"
"That's dumb!! I wanted to interview him!! That's obviously way more important."
"As if he could ever answer!!"
The light pouring from the shop's windows were blocked by the silhouettes of people walking by. Whoever it was behind you pulled you down to the floor, making you crouch. The people kept passing by, talking among themselves.
"Hey!! I think he went this way!!" Someone shouted.
"Heck yeah!!"
"Let's go!!"
The sound of footsteps faded away into the distance, leaving you alone in silence. The only sound you could hear was the hum of the shop's lights.
A few seconds passed by until the person's hand loosened and they backed away from you.
