Request Info: Can you do a Tails x Big Sister Reader?

(AN: Obviously, this is PLATONIC, none of that weird stuff, got it? Also, this one has a darker undertone, nothing extreme, just Tails is a bit more like Nine. Jet The Hawk is in this, you guys have some tension, but we don't speak of that 👀. Okay, on with the story!)

Summary: Reader is an adult in this, Tails is 16! Tails has been getting too caught up with his work lately, and his past, so you invite your brother out for a walk and try to figure things out with him, but you end up walking amidst a hunt being held by a certain green bird....

You hummed, fiddling with the keys of your front door. A click sounded, and you swung the door open to the sound of flowing silence.

The house was quiet, but that wasn't as unusual as it may seem. You let out a small, tired sigh at the faint noise of a metallic torch sparking against metal.

Seems like your little brother was too caught up with welding and such these days. Ever since Sonic The Hedgehog had debunked him from his position of sidekick, he had spent endless days working away in his small lab.

You, as the elder one, worried about him, you had tried to get him out before, but it just never worked. You remember the day he came back home, stricken with absolute betrayal in his eyes. He was never the same, to say the least. He was a bit colder than he used to be, but it didn't bother you. You knew that his job meant the world to him, and you weren't going to try to sugar coat anything to give him false hope.

But, despite the small bridge set upon you both, you built a name for yourselves. You were his new "Sonic", or at least you tried to play the role. You wanted him to be happy, after all.

He built things and you tested them out, going out on heroic runs and such.

It seemed he wanted to surpass Sonic, in a way, and you were certainly with the idea. If that is what he wanted, you would help him achieve it.

You placed the box of strawberry shortcake on the kitchen counter, recalling the events of the past hours.

While on a walk, you stumbled across a lady in dire need of help. Some goons by the name of Rough and Tumble had been stealing her baked goods and scaring away customers from her bakery.

You stepped in, saved the day (as usual), and she gave you a box of strawberry shortcake in return for your help. You did try to decline her offer, but she insisted, so you took it to ease her mind.

You knew Tails would enjoy some of this, so you made sure to slice two pieces for him, settling the second piece on the plate before placing the knife on the sink. (OPTIONAL: You also bring a plate for yourself.)

You silently make your way to the basement, where Tails is silently chipping away at a metal piece with a magnifying glass under his eyes.

"Tails. I brought you some cake. Oh, and a soda, if you want it."

He stopped what he was doing to glance up at you, in which a screwdriver was pressed between his fangs. He hummed before moving to take it out of his mouth, nudging the giant magnifying glass out of the way.

"Thanks. You can put the soda over here." He gestured to the table beside him.

You glanced at the small device he had been working on as you passed him his plate. You shot him a questioning glance as he lifted his fork up to his mouth.
