Summary: After a fight with Eggman, you find yourself stranded in the midst of the rain, with an abandoned robot....

The island was empty.
You were sure that there was no one in the midst of the wreckage of the metallic mess that Eggman had left behind.
But there something nagging at the back of your mind, to check once more, to make sure that you weren't the only one here.
On the Island.
Where the Resistance were sure to never find you.
You let out a shaky breath, rain pouring down harshly on the desolate terrain, against your body.
The sound buzzed at your ears as you stood, hands gripping at your own arms in an attempt for comfort. You slowly paced around, eyes scanning over your surroundings.
Nothing.
Your shoes crunched against the gravel underneath your feet, and only for a second did your eye catch a small blur.
Blue?
It was gone in an instant, and you were sure you turned your head too fast at the ocean. But it was too bright to....
Your eyes glinted back at the red optics shining down on you.
The blue robot towered over you, his eyes boring down into your own. You blinked; you hadn't even been able to process when he had appeared in front of you.
His hands glinted up at you from his sides, curling slightly at the urge to take you down.
You dared not to say anything as dread settled in your gut.
He kept his staring, only moving once something sparked at the side of his head. That's when you noticed how battered he was, a few wires sticking out from his metallic exterior. They sparked once again, this time his optics glitched at the burst.
You slowly stepped back, but he didn't move. Not even an inch.
You finally gained enough courage to raise a hand, waving slowly.
He just looked down on the gesture, his hand unclenching.
You took this as a positive thing, and you finally had built courage to speak.
"...are you hurt?"
He only tilted his head, his shoulders sagging. His half lidded stare only seemed to settle in after a few minutes of obviousness.
You took a step forwards, finally taking his cue. You took ahold of his hand. His cold fingers slightly curled around your own.
"If you want me go fix you, we'll need to get away from the rain." He only glanced at your hand before back at your face.
He gave you a curt nod, and you led him somewhere dry. You had been eyeing a cave nearby when you had been checking your surroundings, and it sure came in handy.
You led him in, but tension still lingered in the air as you stopped.
You gave him an awkward smile. "I'll start with the wires, if you don't mind."
He only glanced at you, without moving his head.
You took that as a yes. You quickly took out some tools from your pockets.
...
The azure robot gave you a skeptical look as you slept soundly on the cave's ground. Your sweater, which you had draped across your front as a blanket, seemed to be slipping off.
He wondered why you, an ally of his, well, former (he wasn't sure yet, though) enemy, was bold enough to help him get back on his feet.
He knew one thing for sure: he wasn't going to harm you. The robot had been abandoned by order of his former master, and even though old code nagged at him to make a move, he resisted.
There was no point in causing damage anymore. At least not to you or the Resistance.
His red optics scanned your face. If anything, he felt resentment towards his master. But you....you seemed to have the capability to upgrade him. He would stick around and find out.
And if it just so happened that you had enough skill to upgrade his tech into Neo....he wouldn't exactly let it go to waste.
He peered at the water falling outside, his fingers twitching. He slowly draped your slipping sweater closer to your chest.
Maybe this was a good thing after all.

(Smiley: Hello, wonderful people! Two updates because I felt motivated! Mostly because I've been getting into Transformers (I have no idea where to keep going, but I'm currently watching two shows and reading one of the IDW Transformer runs) and the characters I've seen so far are just *mwah* Fabulous. Rubble is my favorite character, even though he's only here for a short while, he's so cute and adorable ☹️. Like I wanna give him a hug. If I ever get money, I'm getting a plushie of him (custom or not). His character is sad. Same thing with Starscream. He needs a loving hug. ☹️ Well, other than that, I am currently learning how to draw robots because I've never attempted to do it before, and I want to learn a new drawing skill (aka, I wanna draw fanart of Rubble getting his happy ending ☹️).
