While Shadow wasn't exactly the most naive of the bunch, he had his moments. And one of those moments was accidentally drinking alcohol that Vector hadn't had the brain cells to at least hide from his team. Especially with someone as young Charmy in the facility.

Shadow had chugged the whole thing down, apparently not bothered by the taste, and then teleported away from the Chaotix base two hours later.

In the middle of a forest.

"___! Please tell me that Shadow is with you!"

The motherly voice of none other than Vanilla The Rabbit soothed your ears as you picked up the phone. You scratched the side of your head, not really bothered by Shadow disappearing. He did it all the time, it wasn't exactly something out of the norm.

"Uh, no, he's not. He probably went off to have his alone time." You answered, not thinking much of it.

"I know it's not unusual for him to disappear for some time, but he's never disappeared on babysitting Cream for me!" She panicked, sounding extremely worried. "He would never do such a thing! He would at least call before canceling something, and that was only once that he ever canceled. Could you please try to look out for him?" She pleaded.

"I— yeah, will do. I'll go ask Rouge or—" You offered before being cut off.

"I already asked her. She has no idea where he might be! The last time she saw him was when he was off doing a mission with the Chaotix. Could you please check that out for me? I have Cream to take care of, and Ray has also came over. I have a lot on my plate right now, if you wouldn't mind—"

"Yeah, no problem, Miss. I'll go check." You paused before consolidating her worries. "Don't worry so much, Shadow knows how to take care or himself."

You could hear her fidgeting from other side of the phone. "It's not that I don't think he can't take care of himself. I just had a bad feeling. It's one thing for him to fight someone and at least one of the locals can hear it, and another thing that he's disappeared just like that—to abandon his responsibilities without as much as a notice. It's too quiet."
