It's not really the best chapter but there's a Sokeefe in there—I think I wrote the part alright???—so yeah.

"[Mission accomplished,]" Sophie said quietly, opening the window.

Dame Alina's dead body lay behind her, strewn across the floor in a pool of blood. Sophie wasn't sure why Lady Gisela had ordered her to kill Alina, but she figured it was important enough.

[Nice work] Pixel said. [You're off duty for now. Go and enjoy the dance.]

Sophie smirked, putting one foot on the window sill and looking down from the top floor of the glass pyramid of Foxfire. "[Alright. Thanks for the backup, Pixel.]"

There was a beep, signalling that Pixel had cut the connection. Sophie pulled the device from her ear, burning it to a crisp with Pyrokinesis before dropping it carelessly on the ground.

She jumped.

The wind rustled past her, not moving a single hair from its place. She didn't slow her fall until she reached the floor just above where the dance was being held, also—conveniently—where the toilets were.

She halted, holding herself in place with the wind, and threw the window open. Quickly slipping inside, she shut it and hurried into the female toilets.

Jumping over the wall to one of the stalls, she dropped down and picked up her registry pendant.

Fastening it around her neck, she unlocked the door.

Dex was dancing with someone else—he gave her a wave and an apologetic look as he spun his partner around—and the others were nowhere to be seen.

Well, she could see Fitz and Marella awkwardly dancing together.

Sophie hid her evil matchmaking smile and scanned the room for a familiar face.

"Hey there!"

Sophie looked over her shoulder, smiling. "Jensi!"

"Hi Sophie—wow you look really nice—did you come with Keefe?" Jensi Babblos, as usual, sounded like he'd eaten too much candy and was on sugar rush.

"Thanks," she said as he grinned at her. "But why would you assume I came with Keefe?"

Jensi looked surprised. "Well, I saw him standing alone outside—and you're also alone—and you guys get along really wall—and don't you guys, like, like each other?"

Sophie went bright red. "Our relationship isn't anything like that!"

Jensi cocked his head. "Ohhh, so you're dating."

"No! We're just friends!" Sophie fake scowled, her expression fading into a grin as she and Jensi fell about laughing. She straightened as her mind ran over something he had said. "Wait, you said Keefe was alone? I thought he was going to come with Biana?"

"Well, Biana's over there." Jensi pointed to where the brunette was dancing with someone Sophie didn't know.

"Oh . . ."

"If you were asking me, I'd say Keefe gave her the slip. I mean, Biana can crush on him all she wants, but it's plain as day to everyone who Keefe actually likes. And she hates it." Jensi winked. "If you want to grab him, now's the time."

Sophie's face turned red again. "I'm not trying to grab him!" She sighed, glancing towards the door. "I might go see how he's doing, though. You know, since he's alone. As a friend," she added, already heading towards the exit.
