(Anabia's pov)

One month later...

"Theek hai ammi, mein jaa rahi hun. Allah Hafiz." I said, bidding her goodbye and quickly getting up from the breakfast table. Almost everyone had already had breakfast except me, since I had a late class and him, since he was going in to work a bit late.

(Ok, mum, I am leaving. Allah Hafiz.)

I quickly hurried to the door and was about to leave but luck wasn't on my side and I heard ammi's voice behind me.

"Arre ruko toh. Kahan bhagi jaa rahi ho. Aur college kis ke saath jaa rahi ho? Safeer aur Ruhaan toh aage ke chale gaye." I closed my eyes and turned around to face ammi.

(Hey, stop. Where are you running off to? And with whom are you going to college? Safeer and Ruhaan have already left.)

"Woh maine Zaara ko call kar di hai. Aati hi hogi bas woh."

(Actually, I have called Zaara. She will be here soon.)

"Lekin tum ne usse kyun call ki. Asfandyaar hai na, tumhe chor de ga." I glared at ammi as I felt him staring at me.

(But why did you call her? Asfandyaar is here, he can drop you.)

Clenching my teeth, I replied to ammi. "Ammi, unhe tang karne ki koi zarurat nahi hai. Unko mere chakar mein kahin office se hi der na ho jaye. Waise bhi, Zaara ab tak aane waali ho gi." As if on cue, the horn of a car sounded and I mentally sent blessings to Zaara for saving me. "Dekha. Woh aa gayi. Main chalti hun. Allah Hafiz."

(Mum, there is no need to trouble him. He might get late to his office because of me. Besides, Zaara is probably almost here.) (See. She is here. I am leaving. Allah Hafiz.)

"Acha apna lunch toh le jaao." I heard ammi yell at me.

(Ok, at least take your lunch with you.)

"Nahi ammi, mein college se kuch khaa lun gi." I yelled back and without waiting for a reply, I exited through the front door. Seeing Zaara's parked car, I rushed and quickly got in.

(No mum, I will eat something from college.)

Putting my seatbelt on, I looked at Zaara thankfully. "Yaar, meri jaan bacha lia aaj tumne. Mere dil se duaen nikal rahin hain tumhare liye iss waqat."

(Bro, you saved my life. I am literally sending you blessings right now.)

"Acha, acha, bas bhi karo." She said, shaking her head before she glanced at me. "Yaar waise mujhe tumhari samajh nahi aati. Kab tak avoid karo gi unhe. Agar yehi kuch karna tha toh shaadi ke liye haan kyun ki? Aur ab kya, shaadi ke baad bhi aise chupti phiro gi?"

(Ok, ok, enough with the exaggeration.) (Bro, but I don't understand you. How long will you avoid him for? If you were going to do all this, then why did you agree to the marriage? And now what, are you going to go around hiding from him, even after the wedding?)

I groaned. "Yaar pata nahi mujhe kya ho gaya hai. Unke saamne aane se ajeeb si feelings aati hai aur thora awkward bhi feel hota hai iss sab ke baad. Mein kya karun?"

(Bro, I don't know what has happened to me. Whenever I go in front of him, I get these weird feelings and I also feel a little awkward around him, after everything that has happened. What should I do?)

"Tumhe unse baat karni chahiye." Zaara suggested and I growled.

(You should talk to him.)

"Yaar wohi toh nahi hota." I was actually really worried about all of this. I had agreed to the marriage and I really didn't regret my decision but I didn't know how to actually handle the situation. "I swear, it is all the fault of the family member. Pehle kehte hain bhai bana ke rakho aur phir shauhar mein tabdeel kardo. Kya yaar." I whined.
