Chapter 23

(A/N Notes: Just another chapter of Yuriko and Takeru being cute together)

It had already been a few days since Takeru joined the student council as the new secretary, and so far things had been going well...

"..."

Takeru was flipping through the many love letters meant to Yuriko that were always put in the suggestion box, and seeing all those letters, especially those from boys, were making him do an annoyed expression

"... *Deeply breaths in*... Haa..."

Takeru held back his desire to just throw away or put the letters in the paper shredder, but knowing that Yuriko would tell him off that it was wrong to do that, he gave up on the idea, and simply resigned to properly giving the letters to Yuriko

So with that, he entered the stucco room and gave each of the members inside the documents they had asked him to get for them, and when he went to give the documents to Yuriko, he also begrudgingly put the letters on her table

"... Takeru..."

"Hm? What is it, Yuriko?"

"Why do you always look so unwilling to pass me all those letters"

"..."

Takeru stayed silent as he stared at Yuriko as he thought of an answer

"... Because..."

"Because?"

"Because I don't like the girl I like reading the love letters from other boys sent to her"

Or so, Takeru wanted to say that, but instead, he remained silent as he stared at Yuriko, and instead said

"... Yuriko-baka"

"Eeeeeehhh?"

Yuriko made a slightly confused face at being called that out of the blue, which Takeru only said whenever he was tsundere to her, but she was too dense to notice it

And the other three, easily saw that Takeru was a being a tsundere only to Yuriko

Some time later

"Alright, Tanaka-san. Today you'll be coming with me to tell the clubs about their budgets"

"Okay"

"Great, let's get going then"

Chiyoko and Takeru both left the stucco room, to give the club either good or bad news and as the two left together, Yuriko stopped moving her hands as she looked at the two leaving. She had a smile on her face, but she didn't appear to be smiling, and instead, she looked quite jealous

"... Yuriko-sama, is something wrong?"

"Huh? Ah! No, it's nothing"

Due to Takane's voice, Yuriko came back to her senses and returned to work on the documents at hand, and writing her responses to the love letters

" "..." "

<Do you think she's feeling jealous?>

<Probably, but I don't want to find out>

<Me too>

Takane and Masami decided to give up on prying too deep into that dangerous territory. Then after a few hours, Chiyoko and Takeru came back, with Chiyoko having to be carried by Takeru by the arm, making everyone look at them

"... Let me guess, she talked with too many couples, didn't she?"

"Yes"

"I see. For now, just put her on the sofa"

"Okay"

Then as Takeru went towards the sofa, Yuriko got up and walked towards him

"Want me to help?"

"Sure"

"Okay"

Yuriko then helped Takeru carry Chiyoko to the sofa, and then she gently put her on the sofa

"Thank you for the help..."

"No worries"

"..."

Takeru stayed silent as Yuriko tightly hugged him from behind, as she clearly showed that she had been jealous of Chiyoko having Takeru accompany her earlier

"Hm?... Y-Yuriko? Don't you... Have other things to do?"

"Just a few more minutes"

"Okay..."

Takeru agreed with an embarrassed voice, and Yuriko continued to hug him for more than a few minutes before she went back to dealing with her assigned paperwork

A few days later

It was after school, and right now, only Yuriko and Takeru were inside the student council room, since the other three had to leave to deal with other matters. Thus leaving the two alone, with Yuriko working on the documents, while Takeru, who wasn't that helpful in dealing with the documents, could only sit on the sofa while using his phone and frequently glance at Yuriko

The two stayed quiet because Yuriko was concentrating on the documents, while Takeru didn't want to interrupt her. The two stayed like that for some more minutes, before the door was opened and someone entered

"Is Nanami Yuriko here?"

The person was a quite handsome boy, in the year Yuriko, and he was also pretty loud with his voice. His sudden entrance into the stucco room, surprised Takeru while breaking Yuriko's concentration and making her look at the boy

"Hm? That would be me, do you need something?"

The boy approached her desk with a pretty confident expression

"Yes, I need something from you"

"What is it?"

"I want you to go out with me"

"!?"

"..."

When the boy said that, Takeru was the one who made a shocked face, while Yuriko who was used to being confessed pretty regularly maintained her gentle smile

"Sorry, but I'm not interested in romance at the moment"

"Eh? T-that can't-"

"Also, please refrain from coming here uninvited or without an emergency. I'll tolerate this time, but do not expect a second time, got it?"

"Y-yes"

Yuriko showed the boy, her intimidating smile which immediately made him back down, and he quickly left with a pale face

"Haa... I wish they refrained from doing this in the first place... Hm? What's wrong, Takeru?"

"...Nothing..."

Yuriko noticed Takeru pouting his cheeks as he made an annoyed expression, seeing that and the fact that her concentration was broken, made Yuriko get up and go towards Takeru, then she sat down beside him

"Takeru, I know when there's something bothering you"

"You don't"

"I do"

"... ... ... I didn't like what happened just now"

"Hm? Why is that?"

"..."

Takeru looked at Yuriko and then hugged her, surprising her as she was caught off guard. Then Takeru lifted his face and looked at Yuriko again

"Yuriko-baka"

"Eeeeeeehhh?"

Yuriko who didn't notice that Takeru was feeling jealous, was left somewhat confused at Takeru being slightly more assertive than usual at that moment. But after her initial surprise, she hugged him back, and some minutes later she went back to dealing with the documents

She finished her work faster than expected, since she felt refreshed from hugging Takeru earlier, then she invited him to go back home together as usual
