Chapter 57

(A/N Notes: Yay! An update, I hope I'm able to write next week's chapter)

"Hey! Look at this!"

"How cute! I'm sure that it would fit you Aki-chan!"

"Ayano-chan!Let's go there next!"

" "..." "

Ayano and Aki were both looking at the excited Yuriko with small smiles on their faces, as they could clearly see that she was enjoying herself going out shopping with them.

"..." <Yu-chan is like a little girl when she gets excited, isn't she?>

"..." <At least that's better than seeing her being depressed>

"..." <Fair>

Then as the two talked with each other with just their eyes while walking down the commercial district, they heard someone's stomach grumbling, causing them to look at the owner of the empty stomach... It was Yuriko, who was now showing an embarrassed face.

"... Yu-chan, do you wanna go have lunch?"

"..." *Looks away* *Nods*

"Then let's go find somewhere to eat"

"Actually, there's a cafe near here that I've been wanting to try out, Aki-chan"

"Well, then let's go there"

"Yes! Now follow me! I have the place already marked on the map"

With that, the three girls made their way to the cafe that Ayano wanted to try so that they could have lunch.

Meanwhile

"Alrighto! Now that I got my destined Ganpla from the arcade, what do we do now guys?"

"How about we go have lunch? I'm starting to get hungry"

"Me too"

"Okay, so what do you guys want to eat?"

At Kenzo's question, both Kyo and Kazuo looked away as they feigned ignorance since they didn't want to answer it.

"Haa... fine, how about a hamburger?"

"Nah, I had that a few days ago"

"Kohaku said that she would be bringing hamburger for me tomorrow, so no"

"... Then how about you two suggest something?"

"..." *Kazuo used the 'hey, look it's a butterfly' skill*

"..." "Kyo used the 'Looking at clouds' skill*

Seeing the two refusing to decide on what they wanted to eat, caused Kenzo to cover his eyes as he pressed his temples with one hand. Realizing that continuing to ask those two would resolve in nothing, so he decided to turn to the last person available.

"Alright, Takkun"

"Huh?"

When Kenzo turned his head to look at Takeru, he saw him squatting like a delinquent straight out of a manga, but he responded with an annoyed face.

"... ... ..." <He already reverted to his old self> (x3)

Kenzo, Kazuo, and Kyo couldn't help but think of the same thing as they saw Takeru acting in the same way that they met him three years ago, they couldn't help but feel nostalgic at seeing Takeru like that, and by consequence made them show stupid smiles on their faces.

"So, Takkun, do you have something you want to eat?"

"No"

And just as Takeru denied, his stomach growled, causing him to blush and look away with an annoyed face in a vain attempt to hide his embarrassment.

"... ... ... There is... A cafe I want to try..."

"..." (x3)

Kenzo, Kazuo, and Kyo looked at each other and started to nod with understanding expressions.

"Alright, then let's go to that cafe!"

"Yeah!"

"That's right!"

"..."

Takeru could only stay quiet, as he felt himself getting more embarrassed at seeing his friends act like the chunni idiots that they were, and so after Takeru showed them where the cafe was located, the four began making their way towards the cafe. But, as they did so, they passed by in front of a jewelry store, which had a pair of matching rings for couples in the front and center of their front display.

"..."

Seeing those rings, caused Takeru to stop walking and then blush, as he remembered the promise he did to Yuriko, but when he looked at the price... He couldn't help but feel like he wouldn't be able to fulfill it.

"What'chu lookin' at, Takkun?"

"!?"

When he suddenly heard Kazuo's voice, Takeru jumped a little from the surprise and started to cold sweat, as Kazuo also began to look at the matching couple rings.

"Heeeeeh... Are you planning on giving Nanami-san a ring?"

"N-No..."

"C'mon, Takkun. If you're honest with me, I'm willing to pay them for you"

Kazuo picked up his wallet that contained his adult cards and started to wave it in front of Takeru as he made an amused evil smile. Knowing very well that his three friends had quite some money with them, Takeru could only spin his eyes in confusion as he was that close to accepting Kazuo's deal.

"What's going on here?"

And then Kyo appeared on the other of Takeru as he butted in out of curiosity.

"Takkun here was looking at these matching rings for couples. But he appears to not want to share with me, why he wants to buy those rings for"

Kyo looked at Kazuo for a moment, until he realized what Kazuo was doing, so to help him, Kyo also picked up his wallet and began waving it in front of Takeru.

"Takkun, if you tell us why you want to buy those wings, I'm also going to help pay for them, and not only that, with my help, you can also buy this necklace that is really fitting for a certain someone"

Kyo pointed at the necklace right next to the rings, which as he insinuated, perfectly fitted with Yuriko's beauty, and the rings as well. And Takeru could easily see, Yuriko, being happy at receiving both pieces of jewelry as presents from him.

"So? What do you say, Takkun? Don't you want us to help you buy those jewelry?"

"Think well, Takkun. All you need to do is tell us why you want them, and we'll cover all of the expenses with no strings attached"

Takeru was puffing his cheeks with a red face as he struggled on keeping quiet because of his embarrassment or telling them the reason because of his affection for Yuriko. And then unable to keep himself in that impasse...

"... ... ... I-I want t-to buy those r-rings f-for Y-Y-Yuriko... B-Because I-I promised t-to g-give her m-m-matching rings..."

Takeru ended up giving in to his affection towards his girlfriend. So, having heard Takeru's reason, Kazuo and Kyo stopped pressuring him, and instead started to push him to enter the jewelry store to buy the rings and necklace... As for Kenzo, he remained standing outside of the store with a very serious face, in an attempt to keep his forever-alone tears from leaking (he had failed)

Meanwhile

As the four friends were having a pretty good time, inside a particular cafe, two groups of friends were in a completely opposite situation.

On one side, there was a boy kneeling on the floor in silence, with his friend looking away as he covered his face with one hand, and on the other side was a girl standing in silence with her eyes closed and an angry smile, with her two friends making confused and worried faces at what was going on.

Yuriko and Daichi had once again, ended up meeting by accident
