LISA'S POV

In the early hours of the morning, I quietly slipped out of our home, careful not to disturb the four slumbering angels who were likely still lost in their dreams. There was a pressing matter that needed my attention before our imminent return to Korea.

Upon reaching my destination, I wasted no time in getting down to business. Hours passed in a blur of focused activity, and then it was time to involve Jisoo. It was important to bring this matter to a close with their involvement.

Like a bolt of lightning, they arrived at the location, their efficiency matching my urgency. We tackled the task at hand with a shared intent, wrapping it up as swiftly as we could.

Once the dust had settled, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal at our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. The familiar flavors were a comforting end to a day of intense activity.

"Limario, since we've lent you a hand, you owe us a meal. Time to cough up for lunch!" Jisoo declared, her tone business-like.

I was beginning to question the decision of enlisting their help.

"I thought siblings were supposed to help each other out of love, not for a payback?" I retorted, my lips forming a pout and my eyes taking on a pleading look.

We might not share the same blood, but they were my family. I considered them as my own siblings.

"Limario, I'm here for the drumsticks, not your daytime soap opera!" Jisoo declared, her voice ringing with determination.

What a chicken addict! I thought to myself, shooting her a playful glare as I pursed my lips in mock annoyance.

"Pran, you better serve her an entire bucket of drumsticks before she morphs into a HUNGRY BIRD!" Tzuyu joked, putting extra emphasis on 'hungry bird' and sparking a round of laughter.

"HUNGRY BIRD? I was under the impression it was ANGRY BIRD, not HUNGRY BIRD," Seulgi interjected, her brow furrowed in genuine confusion.

She's usually as quick as a whip, but sometimes her mental gears seem to need a bit of oiling. I had to resist the urge to give her a smack on the head to kickstart her understanding.

"Never mind, Bear. It might take a few laps around the sun for you to get that joke," Jeongyeon teased, giving Seulgi a playful pat on the back.

Seulgi's puzzled expression remained, and I couldn't help but think it might take her not just a few years, but a whole millennium to get the joke.

I chuckled at my own exaggeration.

"Alright, enough of this. Order whatever you want, it's on me," I declared nonchalantly.

No sooner had the words left my mouth than they were flagging down a waiter. I mentally prepared myself for the impending dent in my wallet.

As they busied themselves with their phones, waiting for our orders, I found my gaze drifting outside the restaurant.
