At the Dunphy household during the afternoon, Claire is seen pacing around, waiting for Phil to pick up his phone.
Phil through the landline, "Hey honey, what's up."
Claire - "Uh, the school just called Luke got into a fight."
Phil - "Uh geez, is he okay?"
Claire - "Yeah, he is fine. Apparently, Ryan was around and stopped the fight as soon as it occurred."
Phil - "That's a relief."
Claire - "Yeah, but they want us to come down there. Where are you?"
Phil - "I am showing a house."
Claire - "What house?"
Phil - "I am golfing."
Claire cuts the landline and exits the house. Phil then soon arrives and picks her up. They then head to Luke's school.
In the hallway, Claire and Phil are seen walking and talking.
Claire - "I bet it was that Durkas kid."
Phil - "I hate that kid."
Claire - "He probably jumped on Luke, and Luke just fought back. The kid's a total menace."
Phil - "He made fun of my hair once and tried to pull it."
Clair - "Keep it down. The parents are probably in there."
Phil - "I slept on it funny... Like that never would have happened to him."
Claire opened the principal's office door and found Gloria and Jay sitting in chairs with the kids while Ryan stood next to the principal.
Claire - "What are you doing here?"
Ryan - "Luke and Manny got into a fight."
Claire - "What?"
Phil - "Could have been worse. I was not ready to face Durkas today."
Claire and Phil entered and sat on the empty wooden chairs next to Luke.
Claire - "So, what happened?"
Principle - "Apparently, there was some name-calling and shoving on the playground during recess."
"Luckily, Ryan was present to come to the rescue and picked up Luke from Manny's chest before they escalated further."
"Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce this is the Ryan I was talking about."
Ryan - "Oh, I already know them. They are my neighbors."
Principal - "Really?."
Ryan - "Yeah, that's why I stepped in immediately."
Principle - "Anyways, like I was saying, this isn't acceptable behavior."
Jay - "Luke, that's not like you."
Principal - "Wait a minute, you know Luke?"
Jay - "Yeah, I am his grandfather."
Principal - "If you are related, then who is Manny's father?"
The principal looks at Phil, and Phil points toward Jay.
Gloria - "Javier. Crazy guy. That's where he gets his fire."
Principal points at Luke and asks, "So you are?"
Claire points at herself and Phil before saying, "He is our son."
Jay - "And my grandson."
Claire points at Jay and says, "I am his daughter."
Principal points at Manny and asks, "So you are?"
Manny - "His uncle."
Luke - "Stop saying that, or I'll sit on your chest again!"
Claire - "Wait a second. Is that what this was all about?"
Luke - "He keeps calling me his nephew."
Manny - " You are my nephew."
Luke - "Shut up."
Principal - "Okay, I get that you are all related somehow. So It's best if you work this out at home so the boys can return to class, okay?"
"But remember, we are not happy about this, boys. This is not how mature young men behave."
Principal - "Here's your note for Miss Passwater."
Hearing Miss Passwater, Phil almost lets out a small laugh. Before receiving condescending stares from Claire, forcing him to lower his head in shame.
Manny and Luke exit the principal's room and head toward their respective classes.
Principal - "Ryan. I think you should get going to class is about to start."
Ryan - "All right then, bye, everyone."
Upon Ryan's exit, the principal continues to talk to the two different parents and reassures them.
Principal - "Look, I wouldn't worry. They're good kids. It's just tough when one kid's a little different."
Claire - "Yeah."
Gloria - "Jay's."
The meeting soon comes to an end, but the discussion doesn't. In Phil's car
Claire - "You heard how she said that, right? Jay's. She thought Luke was the weird one. Luke."
Meanwhile, Gloria and Jay were having a conversation in Jay's car.
Gloria - "Her kid gets his head stuck in the furniture, and Manny is the different one."
(This is a continuous switching scene, so I will just write the dialogues down. They are not together but talking simultaneously in their own cars.)
Claire - "What's weird is that her kid wears aftershave and dresses like a count."
Gloria - "I think we should cancel with them for the barbecue."
Phil - "If we cancel, this will become a bigger deal than it is. It will be good for Luke and Manny to spend time together."
"It might be good for you and Gloria, too."
Claire - "Why?"
Gloria - "She's always had a problem with me. I think I'm gonna find out what it is."
Jay - That is probably the worst thing you could do. I think you should just sweep it under the rug."
Gloria - "I'm not a sweeper."
Jay - "Trust me on this."
Phil - "I think you two need to talk it out."
Claire - "I don't have anything to say to her. She's the one with the problem, not me."
Gloria - "Whose side are you on?"
Jay - "She's my daughter, and you are my wife. There are no sides here. Let's just remember what's important here. There's a football game on."
Gloria rolls her eyes at Jay.
Phil - "I just hate it when my two girls aren't getting along."
Claire - "Oh yeah, how exactly is she your girl?"
Meanwhile, at the Mitchell household Mitchell is seen sitting at his desk with his apple mac book on. Cameron walks in wearing a football jersey.
Finding Mitchell looking down in worry, Cameron couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
Mitchell - "I am just really worried about CJ Hightower with the bad ankle. I don't know how he's gonna run his corner routes."
Cameron - "What did you just say?"
Mitchell - "Listen, I heard what you said, and I thought, yes, I should try to learn more about football."
Cameron - "That is very mature of you."
Cameron then heads into the baby's room.
Mitchell - "I figure if football fans can learn it, how hard can it be?"
Mitchell follows behind Cameron
Cameron - "That's very elitist of you."
Mitchell - "I'm taking baby steps here, all right? I'm actually looking forward to it."
"'Cause, it's not just the game. It's the bands and the drama and the pageantry."
Cameron - "Don't forget about the team mascots."
Mitchell - "They wear ascots?"
Camron - "No, "mascots," with an "m" That could have been very embarrassing."
Cameron then comes out wearing half a blackface and asks, "Am I straight?"
Mitchell is left stunned and walks towards his desk while replying, "I am not sure what you are right now."
