The day started coming to a close, and everyone headed their way ending the get-together on a positive note.
Ryan, who was currently sitting in his car, decided to finally check his points earned.
After all, what better than checking your fruits after a hard day of work or, in Ryan's case, a hard day of interacting with the modern family cast.
Ryan, upon seeing his points total, couldn't help but say, "Wowzers."
As Ryan made quite the killing in the fifty installment of the modern family.
You see, his points skyrocketed from 33,180 to 117,650. Most were as you expected, contributed by the surprise kiss between Ryan and Alex.
That kiss alone gave him a whopping 58,000 points, more than double what he earned for the episode.
Ryan decided to save up these points instead of spending them to buy something, but a notification from the system changed that.
It was the notification for a 60 percent discount on all forms of Manga and Anime (sponsored by a man named David)
Ryan - "I wonder how this is going to work. Will it give me the drawing skills or the storyboards for the manga?"
[Detecting first-time encounter with anime category, so free explanation available.]
[Would you like to opt for this explanation?]
[Yes/No]
Ryan quickly clicked yes, and an explanation floated in front of him.
[All forms of Manga or Anime will be automatically converted into animation scripts.]
Ryan - "That means even a manga that has not had an anime can be converted into an anime."
"By the way, does this include light novels?"
[Light novels are another category and not on discount.]
Ryan - "No, does this mean that all light novels will also be converted into anime?"
[Yes, that is correct.]
Ryan - "So how am I a writer if I can't write light novels."
[Let me reiterate this is an optional feature in the case of light novels.]
Ryan - "Does that mean there is a conversation cost?"
[No, it is completely free and an optional choice. It is entirely up to what the host prefers.]
Ryan - "Well, it looks like the system has gained some form of conscience with this new update."
Ryan then started browsing through the massive anime and Manga catalog.
He browsed for a while but couldn't make up his mind for even the starting decision.
Which was to go for quantity or quality. Usually, Ryan would just go for quality, but he felt he should maybe go for more quantity this time.
As Ryan knew after this purchase, he might not be able to get lots of points for a while.
After all, he couldn't just keep kissing Alex in every episode, now couldn't he. Ryan felt doing it occasionally was the right way to go.
Ryan also felt the points gained would probably start decreasing as the audience would get used to seeing Ryan kissing Alex all the time.
After giving it a good thought, Ryan decided to test the waters and see what the best anime he could afford was.
If it was a well-known household name, he would go for it. Otherwise, he would split his points into three by three relatively average manga.
Ryan then scouted out for a while and soon managed to narrow the search to the most High-quality anime he could afford.
It was "Steins Gate." costing a whopping 260,000 points without the discount.
Ryan - "Damn, I can really buy Steins Gate. You know what? Scratch the previous plan. I am getting this no matter what."
Ryan then quickly did some mental math and found the discount of 154,000 points. Subtracting that from 260,000, the price came to 104,000 points.
This meant that upon Steins Gate's purchase, Ryan would be left with only 13,650 points.
Making all the points saved up for mission impossible 2 almost vanish into thin air.
Although Ryan knew Steins Gate was a classic, he didn't understand why it would be so costly it even felt like the system was scamming him.
Ryan - "Hey, system, why does Steins Gate cost so much?"
[The reason is simple it is an upgraded version of the anime with an improved quality of the first eleven episodes.]
Ryan - "Since when can you do that?"
[It has always been a feature the host can use by paying additional points.]
Ryan - "Wait, so you have already added in the 260,000, or is this a separate charge?"
[It is already included.]
Ryan - "By the way, how much does the original Steins Gate cost? You know, just out of curiosity."
[The original Steins Gate is not available for purchase.]
Ryan - "What, why is it not available? This isn't some Netflix show, which is restricted by location, and I have to use a VPN for access."
[The upgraded version can be bought at a discount, but the original version is not included in the discount package.]
Ryan - "Why?"
[As the host can afford to buy the upgraded version, it was deemed that there was no reason to include the original in the discount catalog.]
Ryan - "I guess that makes sense."
On the inside, Ryan said, "Let's be honest. The system probably wants me to spend more is why this rule was made."
"Although I am not upset cause with a better version available, I probably wouldn't buy the original still. This is clearly a cheap move."
"I think I can officially take back what I said about the system gaining a conscience, as it clearly has none."
[You do remember that I can always read your thoughts, right?]
Ryan - "Oh shit, I forgot that, but you must admit I am spitting facts."
The system kept quiet and did not reply to Ryan's taunt.
Ryan then bought Steins Gate and exited the system shop.
After all what's the point of drooling at something you can't afford.
