Backstory: Canvas grew up with her grandparents and her younger sister, Splatter. Her sister was the favorite, and Canvas was often ignored. She grew to resent Splatter, who still adored her dearly. After escaping (and Splatter following) she began trying to be a villain, with Splatter as her assistant. She tried taking the Chaos Emeralds, believing she would finally get the respect she yearned for. She eventually found it more fun to be an anti-villain, and mess with the heroes for fun. She let Splatter go, pretty much disowning her. Splatter still follows her around and helps her, but Canvas still gets annoyed with her.
