POV (Y/n)

-Day 11 in the Scorch-

We file out amazed at what we see before us, and I feel myself sigh in relief. It was over, we were here, "they've been planning this for over a year now. This is all for us." Harriett explains and I smile a genuine smile, but sadness still tugs at my heart at all those not here. "You guys are lucky you found us when you did. We're moving out at first light," Sonya explains "where's Vince?" she asks a guy not far from us. "Somewhere over there, I think," he tells us and I furrow my brows "who's Vince?" I ask.

"He's the one who decides if you get to stay," Harriett answers and I feel my body tense up again as we continue following them. "I thought the right arm was supposed to be an army?" Minho asks "yeah we were!" someone calls out who I assume is Vince. "This is all that is left of us. Lot of good people died getting us this far," he continues and I think about all the people we'd lost to get this far. "Who are they?" he asks Harriett and Sonya as he surveys us "they're immune," Harriett answers "caught 'em coming up the mountain," she continues.

"Did you check 'em?" he asks "I know this guy Aris, I trust him," she says Vince doesn't look sure and his eyes linger on my blood-stained knife strapped to my leg. "Well, I don't. Check 'em," Vince orders and I hear Brenda start breathing rapidly my eyes flying to her "hey boss," one of the guys calls attention to her and all eyes fly to her when she passes out on the ground. "Brenda! Brenda!" Jorge shouts running to her side trying to get her attention but she was in a daze and the memory of Winston flashes in my mind.

"What's going on with her?" Vince asks coming closer to her, and he says in gently. "I don't know," Jorge says as he continues talking to the girl "Brenda, are you all right?" he asks her but she keeps repeating I'm sorry over and over again. I watch Vince and his eyes land on a piece of fabric tied to Brenda's ankle. He pulls it down and jumps away "Oh, shit!" he shouts hand straying to the gun on his side. "Crank! We got a Crank!" he shouts and men stray to Jorge attempting to pull him off of Brenda "No!" he shouts afraid.

Everything moves so fast as Thomas moves to Vince "Wait, wait! Listen, okay? This just happened, okay? She's not dangerous yet," Thomas urges "then you shouldn't have brought her here!" Vince shouts in Thomas's face "I know," Thomas says in a hurried voice "We let Cranks in here now. The safe haven doesn't last a week!" Vince explains looking to Jorge trying to explain what has to be done, and I feel my hand straying to the knife at my side. Not Brenda and not Jorge.

I won't let her die, "I understand, I understand alright. Just listen please, please, okay? I told her that you could help," Thomas says in a soft tone trying his best to de-escalate the situation. "There's gotta be something you can do," Thomas pleads and Vince nods slightly. "Yeah, there is," he starts as he pulls his gun back but only to cock it "I can put her out of her misery," he says causing Jorge to begin screaming again, and I fly to throw myself over Brenda Knife raised in defense.

"Vince! That's enough! Let him go!" A woman shout approaching the scene "she's infected doc, there's nothing we can do for her," Vince says eyes not straying from Brenda as Jorge holds her and I block his view best I can. "No, but he can," she says eyes glued to Thomas as if she knows who he is. "Hello, Thomas," she greets and I furrow my brow looking at Thomas and then her eyes shift to me "and (Y/n)," we both stare at the woman with furrowed brows. "What? You know us?" Thomas asks and the woman nods understanding something.

"Interesting," she says before her eyes drift back down to me "it makes sense they would put you in the maze," she explains going down to Brenda "though I must admit... I was worried they'd kill you after what you did," she says eyes staying on Thomas and I was shocked. What had he done to be killed over? "What I did?" Thomas asks the question we all were wondering and the woman pauses the examination of Brenda. "The first time we spoke, you said you couldn't take it anymore, watching your friends die, one by one. The last time we spoke, you gave me the coordinates to every WICKED compound, trial, and lab," she says smiling and I stare at Thomas amazed.

"He was our source," Vince says shocked like the rest of us "we couldn't have pulled all this off without him," she confirms and I look around astonished, my brother, did this? "Take her to the tent," the doc orders and I waste no time assisting the men in lifting Brenda and carrying her to a tent with medical supplies. When I lay Brenda down I can't help but turn to Thomas hugging him tightly. "What's this for?" he asked and I smile sadly looking in his eyes "for trying to save us," I say and I know we're both thinking of those who didn't get saved "I wish they were here," he tells me and I feel a tear slip down my cheek.

"Me Too,"
