~Safe Haven~

POV (Y/n)

-2 Weeks in Safe Haven-

I smile as I look out at the ocean, Gally beside me, and what remains of the gladers somewhere not far away. "Have you been to the memorial yet?" Gally asks and I shake my head "I feel like Tony would want something special, so until I've figured out what that is I won't," I tell him and he laughs. "What are you two out here jabbering about?" Newt calls "Come on there's a bonfire to get to," he tells us waving his hand to gesture us towards the action, and I can't help but smile.

"I guess we should go shouldn't we," I tell Gally as I stand and look away from him towards the bonfire. "Not just yet," Gally says and I turn back to look at him, and what I see is a shock. There he is my soulmate on his knee with a makeshift ring that's just a circular band. "(Y/n), I've already died once without you and I don't want to do it again so, will you marry me?" he asks and I smile at him "yes," I tell him and he's quick to slide the ring onto my finger.

I hug him tighter than I ever had before and plant a kiss on his lips "I love you," I tell him "I love you too (Y/n)," he says. The night was full of congratulations and I couldn't help but finally feel happiness. Happiness without fear or stress of the future, it's the first time I wasn't afraid to relax. That night I lay next to Gally, but struggled to go to sleep I was now worried this was the dream. That I'd wake up in the scorch or with WICKED again. I stood and approached the memorial with a smile. 

"I wish you and Jacob could have seen this Tony," I say to the air, and I started to mark the memorial with something worthy of Tony and Jacob's memory. I chiseled a heart inside two names 'idiota and Jacob'. 

We were free, and they paid our price.
