Graduation.

It's supposed to be a landmark event in everyone's life, and it was—nothing short of it.

The ceremony was held, I received my diploma, shook hands with all my teachers, and listened to the Valedictorian's speech—which was quite engaging when I found out it was Priya who had received the title.

I took a few pictures, obviously, before going home and getting ready for a celebratory lunch. Though, on the car ride to the restaurant I couldn't help but think about my future, wondering what it would be like.

I should be ecstatic—and I am, it's just I have a blatant reminder of who's joining me for such a journey. I remember it so clearly, we were on winter break and I had already submitted my early decision to Georgia.

Both my parents and all my family and friends knew about it and my commitment towards the college. I also kept a small journal for my day to day life last year. It included a bunch of rants no doubt, but also recaps of some of my best moments.

One of the entries that I can always recall is the one I wrote a week before Christmas.

Dec. 18

I can't wait for college. More importantly, I can't wait to get away from him. God he is such a hassle. Today, I don't even want to get started with him because this journal is probably filled with multiple rants about him. But I seriously can't wait. Five more months of school and a summer of a lifetime before I'm off to become a Bulldog! I will soon be Jackson Riley free!

But when quite shocking and utterly devastating news was announced the following day at the Riley household, you could tell how I felt in my next entry.

Dec 19.

If I could murder one FUCKING person, it would be him. One. Fucking. Person. I am literally going to commit homicide tonight.

Yep. Jackson announced privately and soon after publicly, his commitment to the University of Georgia.

It had to be the worst day of my life and it became even worse when I saw the look on both of our mom's faces.

They were excited. How the fuck could they be excited about something like that. They know he causes 99% of all my life problems, yet they still congratulate him, completely forgetting that I've wanted to go there since I was, like, nine.

And I've wanted to go there alone.

But whatever. You know, I probably won't even see him that often. He'll have football and whole
lot of other girls grabbing his attention.

So maybe it won't be that bad.

But it's still annoying.

A small vibration in my hand snapped me out of my tangent.
