The next morning went by quickly. We got up and ate breakfast downstairs before piling into the car. Before I got in I eyed the driver.

"Don't crash." I mutter.

"I won't crash." he's quick to answer.

"I don't believe you."

"Why's that?" he asks.

"Because you're a child."

"And you're barely an adult."

"At least I am one." I fight back. "You're still 17, so you're a child in my eyes."

"Maturity counts." he crosses his arms. "I'm pretty sure I'm more mature than you."

I laugh at his comment. "You're delusional if you think you're more mature than me."

"Maybe you're the one who's delusional." he sneers. "Let's not forget annoying and probably bipolar too."

I couldn't help how my jaw dropped the tiniest bit. "Wow. You know–"

Before I can even get started Kayla talks over me. "Alright you two! That's enough, let's go!" she yells from the back seat.

I roll my eyes. "You're gonna kill us all." I mumble as I pass by him, bumping his shoulder intentionally.

"Well, if we crash I'll make sure your side gets hit first." His words were sarcastic, but still got on my nerves.

At least we think the same of each other. If I crashed the car, I hoped he would be the first to go. Same for him I guess.

I'm just joking. Jeez.

I buckled my seatbelt as Jackson drove away from the hotel. I put in my headphones and relaxed for the first few hours. During the drive we had two bathroom stops, filled up on gas, and made a driver change.

I also switched my seat upfront as Elliot took the wheel. I had just opened my eyes because my headphones died. I checked my phone and saw a few texts from Hannah.

Hoe #2: Is it bad that I think Finn is unbearably cute?
Hoe #2: And funny
Hoe #2: And adorable

Me: No. I think it's reasonable since you know...

Hoe #2: Know what

Me: Since he kissed you you dimwit

Hoe #2: Emery.

Me: I think it was a step in the right direction.
Me: A very big step

Hoe #2: Stop.

Me: Why? Isn't that what you've wanted since eighth grade?

Hoe #2: Seriously Em. Don't bring it up.

Me: Why not? I thought you would nonstop blab about it.

Hoe #2: I will
Hoe #2: But I can't hyperventilate in the car with him

Me: Ahahah

Hoe #2: I'm serious
Hoe #2: You know how nervous he makes me Em
Hoe #2: I will blab to you when we get there

I smile at her message. We have thirty minutes until we get to the house, and those vacation jitters start acting up.

I love that feeling. That feeling in your stomach the night before vacation. It's the best.

We were stopped at a red light, my window was down as I rested my elbow on the windowsill. A honk from the car next to us for my attention.

I turn my head out the window and see a red Jeep, doors practically nonexistent, full of guys who look around my age. Maybe older.
