———————You sat in silence the entire car ride. The only sound you were processing was the music playing in your headphones. You were trying to ignore the burning feeling in your chest but it was all too much.
Nick didn't say goodbye to you. No text, no anything. You were beginning to doubt your relationship with the boy but knew that you shouldn't.
"He probably just needs time to process everything." Is what Kaitlyn told you once you all were getting in the car.
Part of you knew what she was saying was possibly true but your heart made you believe otherwise. You hoped it was just him wanting to go home and that he'd text you as soon as he could. But you still had that lingering thought that stated otherwise.
The car had stopped moving signifying that you had now arrived at the airport. Your body was in airplane mode already. You felt your feet moving but you didn't feel in control.
Jacob was still holding your luggage and dumping it into the conveyor belt that led to your plane's storage compartment.
Kaitlyn was speaking to the both of you about something you couldn't really hear, only understanding once she opened her phone and showing your tickets back home.
The ride back home didn't feel as exciting as it was leaving home.
The plane ride went by a lot quicker than you had expected because one moment you were leaving the airport and now you're settling into a new one.
You, Kaitlyn, and Jacob all walked through the jetway onto the gate exit. You all walked to the conveyor belt that held your luggage and collected your things.
"You wanna stay at my place for a couple days?" Kaitlyn asked you when you all began to wait outside for your ride home.
"Yes." You responded and fiddled with your fingers again.
Kaitlyn hummed in response and looked around the area for your ride. Jacob was the one who ordered your ride and wouldn't let anyone else see what he was doing on his phone. You assumed he was just annoying Emma with text messages.
A dark grey car with tinted windows came to a stop in front of the three of you. Kaitlyn looked confused while Jacob had a stupid smile on his face. Jacob stuffed all your bags into the trunk a bit too quickly for your liking.
"God, I can't wait to sleep..." You said to yourself.
Jacob opened the back door and let Kaitlyn in first then went in himself. You walked forward to sit down with them but your brother shut the door in front of you, leaving you outside the car.
You sighed rather harshly and bit your tongue. You begrudgingly went to sit in the passenger seat. You didn't feel like talking to anyone or being polite, you just wanted to go home.
You opened the door and sat down on the leather seat of the car and buckled yourself in. You didn't pay much attention to the driver, only mumbling a small 'hi' before going on your phone.
"Where to, (n/n)?" The driver's voice was eerily similar to a certain Aussie you knew.
You whipped your head around to see Nick instead of a random Uber driver. "Nick?" You mumbled.
Nick nodded in response and gave you a small smile. As happy as you were to see him, you still were a little upset that he had left without telling you anything.
Jacob seemed to have noticed you weren't going to answer and told Nick where you needed to go.
Nick attempted to talk to you during the car ride but you'd only give him one worded answers or no answer at all. You knew you should just get over it and talk to him but it still made you a little upset.
