You push back your stool and crack your knuckles.

"This will be fun! Lucky for you Twi, I happen to be pretty good at pool. Not to brag. Or anything." You brag.

"Actually, you aren't going to be my partner." He says Flatly. You freeze. Your face fills with embarrassment and shock. Twi reads it off your face and chuckles.

"Hylia (y/n), I was joking. Get over here." He gestures to the table.

"That was uncalled for." You pout as you stand up and walk past him to the table, bringing your drinks with you. Shad, Link, and a girl you don't recognize follow. You set the mugs down on a closer table and return to the pool table, where Twi stands next to you.

"(Y/N) is my partner." He points to you.

"Alight. Ashei will be mine!" He gestured to the black-haired girl standing next to him. Twi grabs the triangle of the wall and uses it to collect the balls on the table. He puts it back and throws you a stick, which you manage to catch with grace.

"What'll it be boys?" Thelma yelled from across the room.

"Horns." Shad spoke first.

"Then we're tails." Link replied.

"It was horns." Telma shrugged. Ashei smirked, and Shad nodded at her. She lifted her pool stick and rested it on the table between her fingers, squeezing one eye shut. She lined the stick up with the ball and swiftly pushed it into the others with an array of satisfying clinks. You grit your teeth as your eyes follow a red one, which just barely stops an inch away from the pocket.

"Okay, (Y/N), why don't you show me whatcha got?" Twi smiles in your direction. You step up to the table, a bit nervous. You rest your elbow on the green surface of the table and steady your hands with the pool stick in between. You decide to aim for the striped red ball from before, since it was so close to the pocket and was a decently straight shot. The white ball was decently spaced from the red one, so you had to make sure you hit hard enough to knock the ball in, but not too hard that the white one goes in too. You take a breath in.

"Nice one, (Y/N)." Twi smiles as the red ball gets knocked in.

"Eh," you shrug. "That was an easy shot."

"Guess that means we're solid." Shad takes his hit toward a purple ball in the corner. It rolls toward the pocket, but just barely misses, bouncing off the side. A short hissing sound escapes Shad's mouth. Link smirks as he moves over to the ball, hitting it toward a solid ball. You have a hint of confusion before you realize he's planning to use that to hit a stripped ball further behind. It goes as planned, and the ball rolls right into the pocket.

"Hey! Food about ready for you two, Twi!" Telma shouts.

"I'll go grab it, it's their turn next anyway." You slip through the tables until you're up to the bar, where a plate is placed with what you assume are the potato croquettes and the meat pie.

"One minute sugar, let me go grab your stew." You sit on a stool and wait, a few seconds before she returns.

"Alrighty, be careful, it's hot!" Telma hands you a wooden bowl with a pot holder woven with horses on the side. You push some of the croquettes aside, place your bowl on the plate, and carry them both back to the table, making sure not to spill anything. You set them down carefully.

"It's your turn, (Y/N)" Twi beckons you over.

"Did they make it?" You ask him.

"Unfortunately." He replies. You grab the pool stick and line up the ball with another. You can see Twi watching you out of the corner of your eye, and it makes you a bit nervous. Smoothly as possible, you pull it back and forward again, but you accidentally hit towards a side instead of perfectly in the middle. The ball hits one of the edges instead of the pocket and rolls between 2 solid balls. You turn around and glare at Twi.
