As the limo drives further down the road, you realize that you recognize the surroundings.
"Hey, aren't we driving the same way as we did to go to the barn?" You question.
"That we are. Quite observant of you. That barn is owned by my family, and my house isn't far from it. That's where my studio is."
"Your studio?" You question, intrigued. "What do you do exactly?"
"No need to get all hasty, (Y/N). You'll find out soon enough." He replied with a chuckle. "We're just about there."
The taxi took a sudden left turn off of the street onto a paved cobblestone driveway. You glanced out the window and were met with a fancy barred gate, a hawk crest engraved on the front. The taxi driver rolled down his window, and put in a 4 digit code. With a loud crank, the gate opened. The limo continued further up the pathway, until a grandiose manner revealed itself from the tree line. A cascading marble water fountain dribbled out front, perfectly trimmed bushes lined the many walkways, and colorful flowers filled the gardens. The building's size even rivaled the bachelorette mansion.
"You live here?" You gasped.
"Sure do." Twi said nonchalantly. Now his fancy suits, watches, and mannered appearance made more sense. The taxi parked outside of one of the garages. Twi got out of the car and opened your door. You both walked to the mansion's front entrance, where Twi inserted a key into one of the wooden door's locks. He pushed open the door, raising a cloud of dust. As you stepped into the entryway, you brushed your hand in front of you, trying not to sneeze. Your footsteps seemed to echo throughout the entire, dimly lit house. The windows all had their curtains drawn, the only light was provided by a burning wood fireplace to your right. Everything looked perfectly put together, untouched. You would never guess someone was actively living in the house, the only thing to suggest it was a dog bowl by the kitchen table. Little pellets of food were tossed around on the floor next to it.
Twi didn't bother to turn on a light switch, instead he gestured for you to follow him. He took you down a long hallway, past a door leading into a grandiose dining room with an oakwood table, a kitchen with a gold plated oven, and finally what seemed to be a painted family portrait. You hesitated in front of the painting, lifting your hand across the canvas to brush off the layer of dust that had built on it. A stern looking man with frozen blue eyes and a cold expression had his hands rested upon the back of a cushioned stool. Sitting upon the stool is who you assumed to be Twi's mother, a woman with short auburn hair and green eyes. And finally, two boys stood in front of her. You assumed that the older boy, who looked to be around 13, was Twi. He looked as if he was trying to replicate his fathers cold expression. The other boy was much younger, only a toddler. Unlike Twi, he couldn't seem to have contained the big smile he wore on his face. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Are you coming, Y/N?" Twi's voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
"Yeah." You turned a corner following his voice. Twi pushed another door open, and stepped inside to the pitch black room. You followed closely behind as Twi fumbled looking for the light switch. Eventually, you heard a click and the room was illuminated by a stained glass lamp. The light revealed a dozen wired shelves, containers of supplies, and a table with two stools. On each shelf, different pots, sculptures, and ceramics. It looked much more lived in and felt more alive than any other room in the house. There were empty water bottles, cups, and potted plants scattered throughout the room. Twi drew two curtains covering an arched window, and the room flooded with natural light. It felt much more lived in than the rest of the house.
"Did you make all of these?" You ask, lifting up an ivory vase with fish-like engravings, revealing a deep purple within each indentation. Twi nodded.
"Bet you didn't think I'd like getting my hands dirty," Twi winked flirtatiously, causing you to blush and mentally scold yourself. Twi laughed before adding, "I'm just kidding. Pottery is kind of my escape from when things get stressful, I come here a lot. So it works out nicely that it's also my job."
