"hey, chan, i have to get going. it's getting kinda late and we have school in the morning."

chan stood up from the carpet of his room, stretching his arms up into the sky as he let out a content sigh before glancing over at his alarm clock. 9:42. chan turned towards his friend who was still sitting on the floor, tilting his head slightly as the sides of his mouth tilted up in an innocent grin. "you're right, seungkwan. you probably should get going so you can get enough sleep for our test tomorrow. i don't want you to get anything below eighty percent, mister!"

seungkwan rolled his eyes playfully before also standing up, stuffing the papers and books scattered across the carpet into his slightly worn backpack. "you sound so much like my mom, chan, its ridiculous. we've been studying for hours, so i think i'll be fine."

chan brought his hands up to seungkwan's cheeks and began to squish them, causing the boy to let out grunts of complaint. "i just want my best friend to do well in school! is that so bad?"

seungkwan lightly slapped chan's hands off his face before slinging his backpack over his shoulder. "no, but you know i've never failed a test before in my life. your study methods surprisingly help me a lot."

chan's grin grew wider. "yeah, that's right. my methods are so great, they can create the perfect intellectual."

seungkwan raised an eyebrow, yet still continued to look at his best friend fondly. "you know perfection doesn't exist, right?"

chan shrugged before letting out a lively chuckle. "well yeah, but it never hurts to strive to be as perfect as you can be in your state of life. that way you know that you will always try your best and become someone you can be proud of. no matter what, you should do a great effort to be the greatest because we only get one life, so we should try and live it out and be true to ourselves as much as we could, right?"

seungkwan lightly punched chan in the chest playfully. "you're so wise for your age. sometimes, i wonder if you're like an old man trapped in here."

chan stuck his tongue out. "now you sound like an old man. c'mon, you gaffer, i'll walk you out."

the two boys walked through chan's old house, the only sound being the monotonous ticking of the old clock on the wall and the quiet creaks of their sock-covered feet against the floorboards. seungkwan slid on his old sneakers that were sitting next to the front door. chan opened the door, the lock clicking loudly before stepping out into the crisp, night air. he looked back at his friend, gesturing for him to come out. "come on! i don't want any moths to fly in."

seungkwan let out a small groan. "i'm coming, i'm coming."

once seungkwan stepped out into the night, chan quickly closed the door. seungkwan took a few steps forward, staring up at the sky. "hey, looks like we got a full moon tonight."

chan stepped forward a bit to stand next to his friend, looking up with expectant eyes. "wow! it's... really pretty."

seungkwan chuckled. "yeah."

chan lifted his hand up in the air, beginning to wave up at the shining space rock. "hi, moon people!"

seungkwan turned to look at his friend with concern. "what are you doing?"

chan turned to seungkwan with a blinding grin, shining almost as brightly as the moon. "well, there's people up on the moon right now, right? i just want to make sure they realize they are appreciated too."
