The first look of her I saw
It was like a white keyboard in the piano
My transparent gaze was reflected in it
As if it would become clear.

'What will you look like to me today?'
I kept getting curious.

Each of her small expressions
Felt like new music...
Melody.

Just imagining her expressions
Makes my heart feel better.

What magic did she use?
What magic did she use that I became a fool
A fool who smiles even from the name of hers.

"Rahim!"
Saad called one of the cleaners who was mopping the floor.

"Yes, sir?"

"Is Dr. Nila in her cabin?"
Saad asked formally.
"I need to discuss something about one of her patients."
He lied.

"No, sir. Ma'am didn't come to the hospital."
The man replied.

"Oh okay. Thanks."
Saad said with a neutral look although inside he was panicking. It's been a few days since Nila stopped coming to the hospital. She wasn't even picking up her phone nor replying to the text messages.

Saad looked at the time before leaving his cabin. Standing outside Deira's cabin, he knocked.

"You busy?"
He asked Deira who was reading a report standing beside the window.

"Not until the next twenty minutes."
Deira replied as Saad entered her cabin before sitting on a rolling chair with a sigh.

"If you are here to talk about your love life, then leave else talk."
She added without looking at Saad.

"A couple of days ago, her mother called me."
Saad started.

"Nila's mother?"
Closing the report, Deira looked at him.
"Why?"

"She offered me money for my phd and mom's medical expenses."
Saad replied.

Nila's mother recently got to know about them. Accidentally she saw them together. Instead of lashing out on Nila instantly, she took her time to do research on Saad and his family background. Although with Saad's marvelous professional and academic history she was impressed, still she couldn't ignore his poor financial condition. On top of that Saad's parents were divorced which was one of the reasons for Nila's mother to dislike him.

Nila's mother tried everything to convince Nila to leave Saad but Nila was adamant. And so having no other way out, she approached Saad.

"And in return she wants me to leave Nila."

"Typical of her."
Deira murmured before silently asking.
"What was your answer?"

"Of course I denied."
He said.
"I need money badly, but I have my self respect."

Deira simply nodded before asking,
"Did you tell this to Nila?"

"I couldn't. I can't reach her. She's neither picking up my calls nor replying to my messages."
Saad shook his head.
"I'm worried, Deira. What if her mother did something to her?"

"Although her mother is a controlling woman, still, I don't think that Nila is someone whom she can control or do something to."
Seeing Saad still not satisfied with her reply, Deira added while patting Saad's shoulder.
"Don't worry. Let's wait until tonight. If Nila still doesn't reply, then I'll personally go to her house, okay?"
