As they walked down the memory lane

Together, hand in hand,

The trembling feeling
When they first saw each other
Flashed before their eyes
The way they were shy
To acknowledge their feelings,
The promises they made
To each other,
The way they protected each other
Even in the difficult times,
Everything flashed before their eyes
And they couldn't help
But smile at each other knowingly,
Acknowledging that
They couldn't have asked
For a more beautiful
And perfect life partner.

Six Years Later

Due to the surgery being postponed, Ayana came early to the house. However, being greeted by the unusual silence her curiosity piqued. She ventured further inside, wondering where everyone was. As she neared the kitchen, the sound of laughter reached her ears, and she couldn't help but frown at confusion.

Pushing the door open cautiously, she peeked inside and found a heartwarming scene. There was Imraan, seated at the kitchen table, with their two kids on either side of him, indulging in a funny conversation.

Ayana cleared her throat, grabbing everyone's attention. Imraan looked up, his eyes widening in surprise as he spotted her.
"What is happening here?"
Ayana frowned.

"Ayana, look, i can explain-"
Imraan stood up nervously.

Ayana looked at her two year old daughter, Zunaina.
"Why is she still awake?"
Looking at her watch, she asked.
"It's her nap time already."

At this Zunaina rolled her eyes making Ayana's eyes widen.
"Did- did she just- roll her eyes at me?"

This time her daughter again rolled her eyes making Ayana gasp. She exchanged a bewildered glance with Imraan, who gulped nervously seeing their toddler's sassy antics.

"I can't believe it,"
Ayana said in disbelief.
"How did she even learn to roll her eyes?"

Before Imraan could say anything five year old son, Saihan, got down from the kitchen counter and ran to her mother before replying innocently.
"Dad always rolls his eyes behind your back and that's how Zunaina learned it by copying him."

Ayana glared at Imraan.
"Is that true?"

"You traitor!"
Instead of replying, Imraan glared at their son.
"How could you speak against me?! Did you already forget that I bought you ice cream?"

"You did what?"
Ayana's glare only intensified.

"Ayana, I-"

"Did you buy him ice cream again?"
Putting her hands on her waist, Ayana glared at her husband.
"How many times have I told you not to give him anything sweet since he has a cavity?"

Imraan shifted uncomfortably under Ayana's stern gaze, realizing he was caught in a difficult situation. He tried to explain himself,
"Ayana, I thought one small ice cream wouldn't hurt..."

Ayana shook her head disapprovingly.
"Imraan, you always say that. 'One small ice cream,' and then it turns into two, and then three."

Saihan chimed in with a mischievous grin,
"Sometimes it's four!"
