Draco linked arms with me, and lead me to the dance floor.

Draco quickly placed his arms around my waist, as I placed my arms around his neck.

We spun in slow circles, as we danced elegantly.

Though Draco and I had only danced together once before, it felt like we had been dancing together for a lifetime.

I felt happy.

I was truly touched on how kind Draco could be... when he wanted to.

"Don't waste all your good dance moves on him." Cedric joked, as him and Cho floated over.

"I did promise Cedric a dance." I smiled at Draco.

"Very well." Draco agreed, and Cho and I switched dance partners.

Draco made sure to keep some distance between Cho and himself, as  did Cedric and I.

"I see you have a new date." Cedric spoke.

"Yeah, well... Fred walked out on me.  Left me crying actually. Draco asked me to dance with him."

"Good, you don't deserve to be left crying." Cedric reassured me.

After our quick dance, I was returned back to Draco.

"I'm at a loss for words, only thing I can do is just admire you in this moment." Draco whispered softly in my ear.

I couldn't help but blush.

How did Draco all of a sudden become so charming?

People watched, as Draco and I spun throughout the dance floor.

My eyes meet Harry and Ron, who were sitting in chairs at the edge of the dance floor.

They watched us, with their arms folded over their chests.

They looked bored and annoyed.

Their dates had left them by now, and had begun dancing with other people.

"Fancy seeing you..." Hermione said, as her and Victor made their way over.

Her eyes bounced between Draco and I, but Draco didn't seem to care.

The only thing that mattered to Draco, was I was in his arms dancing with him.

"I'm having a wonderful time, Hermione.  How about you?" I asked her.

"I am too," She gladly responded, "Where's Fred?"

"He ran out on me, long story." I spoke in a very quiet voice.

Hermione's smile had shrunken a little bit, and she swallowed hard.

"Here he comes." Hermione gasped.

"Who?" I asked, looking in the direction that her eyes were pointed.

Fred Weasley had reentered the ball room.

He walked with his head pointed at the ground.

Fred had not seen me dancing with Draco eye.

"Don't panic, pretend he's not here.  Pretend it's just us." Draco whispered in my ear, just as Fred looked up.

Fred stopped dead in his tracks.

His eyes grew wide.

His body grew stiff, and still.

It seemed like all of the air was sucked out of his lungs.

Fred stood there, stunned, as Draco continued to dance with me.
