That next morning, as soon as the sun came up, I got out of the hospital wing as fast as I could.

God, I just wanted to lay on my bed.

Even if it was worn and old.

I rushed through the halls and the Gryffindor commodore.

I jumped onto my bed, and sprawled out on top.

I didn't even crawl under the blankets.

I just wanted to be back in my own room.

I was so physically and emotionally exhausted.

I didn't get very good sleep in the hospital wing, no one ever does.

And I was out like a light.

...

"Wake uppppp!" Cedric shook me awake.

"How did you get in here?" I groaned as I pushed myself up.

"Neville let me in." He smiled, as he sat on the edge of my bed.

I pushed myself to sit on the edge of the bed next to him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"Well, it seems you've forgotten... it happens to be New Years Eve. Which means, you and I have a party to attend to in a little while.  You better get ready." Cedric looked down at his imaginary watch on his wrist.

"What time is it?!" I frantically asked.

"About 11:00."

"At night?! Jesus, I've slept all day!" I said jumping up to my feet.

"I tried to wake you." Hermione said.

I didn't even notice her sitting on her bed.

"Hi." Was all I was able to blurt out to her.

Hermione shook her head, and gave me a smile.

"I'm going to the library.  You two behave yourselves, an be safe." Hermione spoken, before getting up and walking out.

"Now, get ready.  I don't want to be late." Cedric chuckled.

I scrambled to throw an outfit and makeup together.

It wasn't anything fancy, just a pair of jeans and a black shirt, along with some light makeup.

"Come onnnnnn." Cedric tugged at my sleeve, as I put the finishing touches on my makeup.

"Alll rightttt! Lets gooooo." I replied with a small laugh.

Cedric and I linked arms, as the two of us ran through the corridors to the Ravenclaw house.

"I figured that slytherin would throw the new years eve party.   Why Ravenclaw?" I asked Cedric.

Cedric gave me a shrug.

"Guess they wanted something a little more laid back." Cedric spoke as the two of us entered the party.

Ravenclaw parties were more laid back.

Music wasn't so loud, not as many flashing lights, and usually not as many people.

No one can compete the the banging parties slytherin throws.

"Drinks?" I asked him.

"Sure."

I walked over to the drink table, and pours two, before walking back over to Cedric.
