Imma start it right off. 1-22-2023
Avery bolted out of the door, without a words to anyone. You were about to go after her until Libby stopped you and said she could handle it. Libby would be a better comfort than you. Shit, you alone, again, why does this always happen to you? This time with piranhas, who want to tear you to bits. You could feel their intense stares, especially Grayson's.
Slightly raising your hands up, "Look I had... no idea alright." You said in an attempt to lighten the tension of the room a bit. Which they only responded in silence. You hate being the center of attention in moments like these. Why can't people pay attention you when you're alright with it
You fidgeted with your clothes, just waiting for the building to collapse or something so you could have your excuse to get the hell out of there."M-Maybe I should leave... like right now." You quickly dodged through the people and the chairs. Luckily, they didn't seem to care enough if you stayed. As you were almost about to exit through the front door, someone grabbed your arm and walked you into the other direction.
"Hey let go of me!" You tried to pry off their hand.
"You're telling me what just happened." He tighten his grip on your forearm.
"Why am I not surprised? Gray gray, I'm telling you I don't know anything." You shook your arm.
He stopped in his tracks, letting go of your arm.
"Listen, first, don't call me that, second, I would go to Ms. Grambs but due to certain issues, I cannot.""You're just afraid of being kicked out that's what." You pointed to his chest. He was just trying to be professional and you knew it.
He grabbed your hand, and put it back to your side. "I didn't pull you over here for you to mock me."
"And didn't I tell you? I. Know. Nothing." You waited for him to say something back, anything really, but nothing escaped his mouth.
"You didn't have to hold my arm like you're trying to break my bones or something." You flatly stated, while rubbing your now pained forearm. You eyed him one last time before walking away from him. This time he didn't do anything, just watched you go. Like he was trying to hold himself back to say something.
You had finally gotten to the door. The bodyguard, Oren, was opening the door, that must be where Avery is."Wait up!" You exclaimed, running to the door.
He didn't say anything but paused for a second, enough for you to slide through. You reunited with Libby and Avery, but they hadn't spotted you yet. They must've been distracted by something else.
"I'm going with you." Oren surprised all of you, by his sudden appearance. So that's why he was opening the door.
You hadn't heard what Avery was saying earlier the minute before. But you go where she goes. "Me too.""Y/n? When did you?- I don't need security." Avery told him. "I just need to get out of here."
"You'll need security for the rest of your life, but look on the bright side... " He nodded to the car. "I can also drive."
Avery asked him if he could take you all to a motel. But when you arrived, it looked nothing like a motel. Can a person get used to being rich? Alisa Ortega was already waiting for all of you at the front desk. How'd she get there so fast?
"I had a chance to read the will in full." Alisa said without a hello.
"Well, hello to you to Ms. Ortega." You said sarcastically.
"I have a copy for you, Ms. Grambs. I suggest to retire to your rooms and go over the details."
"Our rooms?" Avery and you were almost in sync.
"We can't afford rooms." Avery said after looking around the place.
Alisa gave her an almost pitying look, "Oh honey," she said, "You own this hotel."
Libby and Avery were in shock. Did you guys not see the big letters on the building, 'Hawthrone hotel'? Or maybe you were just hallucinating?
"Beside which," she continued, "The will is now in probate. It may be sometime before before the money and properties are out of escrow, but in the meantime, McNamara, Ortega, and Jones will be picking up the tab for thing you need."
Libby frowned, "Is that a thing law firms do?"
Alisa explained how Avery was basically their client now. It was all so complicated, and yet so simple. It'd be easier to just say that Avery's life wasn't going to same.
You were led to some hotel room you guessed would be yours. Most people didn't even question why you were there. You didn't look THAT similar to Avery, so you could guess that they didn't think you two were siblings. Hopefully, no one would mistake you two for lovers again, though it wouldn't be surprising if anyone did.You exploring though the hotel until you finally found Avery. She was looking over the will with Alisa and Oren.
"Hey guys, what's up?" You stepped closer to the group.
Oren totally ignored your presence, "Believe me. I know. But I also know the Hawthrone family. The boys would never harm a woman, and the woman will come for you in the courtroom, no axes involved."
"Axes? How much did I miss?" You were concerned.
"I'm not so sure about you though. But you are no importance to them." Oren assured you, actually looking up to make eye contact.
"Wow." You don't know if you should feel insulted or glad. They went on about how if she didn't move in the the estate soon. She'd lose the money. And if she died or denied, then it would go to charity or possibly the Hawthrone family. How has it only been a day here in Texas? Does time move slower?
I know, all of these are short. But at least I'm exact. So you don't get any spoilers yk. Anyways, HAVE A GOOD NIGHT/ GOOD MORNING/ GOOD EVENING/ GOOD AFTERNOON!! Ladies [?] And gentlemen <3
