One New Message (Random Updates)

Chapter 1

A ping interrupted her music, making Jade glance away from the paper she was currently typing for a school assignment. Smirking when she saw the notification, she opened the new message.

What are you doing?

She glanced around before quickly typing, research for my paper, you?

Grabbing some lunch.

Fun fun

What did you have lunch?

Found the book I was looking for, got to get this paper done. Don't have too much fun being off campus.

Jade closed the chatroom before they could reply and sighed. Staring at the blank Word document she internally groaned, she really did need to get this paper done but she just couldn't concentrate. She hit play on Pandora and smiled softly as Linkin Park filled her ears.

She picked up the book beside the computer and started flipping through the pages until she found the information she was looking for. Finding the chapter she needed, she sat the book down and began typing in all the information she thought she might possibly need.

A ding cut off In the End and she looked down to see a new notification by her chat room icon. She smirked and clicked it open.

You still in the library?

Who said I was in the library? She quickly typed back as butterflies erupted in her stomach.

You said you were doing research Goofball. Research means library.

She rolled her eyes, ORRRR I could be in the chemistry lab doing research or at a hospital doing research talking to doctors or biology lab for Anatomy or at a museum for Art or History. There are many different types of research.

True, but you also said you found the book you were looking for, books for research usually means library. So, are you still there?

What if a few of us are at the library?

Well, we were talking about meeting up one day...

Yeah one day She started to type back but her watch peeped and she sighed in relief when she saw the time. Got to go or I'll be late. She finished her response then quickly closed out the chat room. She shut her laptop and shoved it into her bag before gathering up the pile of books that she needed to check out. She sighed in relief when she saw some other girls get behind her as she headed to the desk.

She checked out the books the quickly left the library while putting the books in her bag, not really paying attention to what was happening around her. She just wanted out there as fast as she could. Realistically she knew there was no reason for her to rush out of there since she never gave away any of her personal information, but she still didn't want to be there just in case.

She made it to class with a few minutes to spare so she found her favorite chair in the very back and sighed in relief as she caught her breath and removed her headphones. The professor walked in so she pulled out her notebook for that class and her favorite pen and sat up better to focus as other students came rushing in.

By the time all her classes were done, she was exhausted and just wanted to head to her dorm room. She slid her headphones back on and hit play on her phone to get Korn blaring against the headache that was starting to form.

As she walked to her dorm it started to rain and she smiled softly as she tilted her head up and closed her eyes to soak in the chilly weather. Once she felt grounded, she started her journey again. A body came running towards her and bumped into her, knocking her headphones slightly off her ears.

"Shit, sorry," A blonde haired man apologized as he steadied her. "I wasn't paying attention. Hey, love your snake bites and purple hair, that's so cool."

"I swear when I find you, you will regret it!!!!" A deep voice came from the darkness.

"Sorry again but got to go, you didn't see me," the blonde giggled as he pointed at her then winked and took off running again.

Jade stared at the now empty spot in confusion when a couple of minutes later a man dressed in all black came towards her. He glared at her then grunted, "Where's your jacket?"

"In my room," she answered confused while staring at his snake bites lip piercings, "I like the rain. Jerry Yang said that without rain there would be no life and Bob Marley said some people feel the rain while others just get wet." She shrugged, "Besides it can't rain all the time."

"You're going to get sick," he glared. "Anyway," he rolled his eyes, "did you see a blonde man running by here a few minutes ago?" She shook her head, and he sighed in annoyance. "Go home and get out of this rain before you get sick."

"Why do you care?" She asked bewildered. He just glared then walked past her. "You don't have a jacket on either, you know!" she shouted at his back. He froze and she took off running.

She made it to her dorm building without any more instances and used her card key to get in. Once she reached her room she placed her bag down then changed into some dry clothes, she was so glad she had a room to herself so she didn't have to worry about anyone coming in unexpectedly. Getting comfortable on her bed she pulled out her laptop and books.

She opened her small window so she could hear the rain then turned on her laptop and opened her paper to work on it. Just as she was about to finish the chat room notification pinged. She blinked in surprise as she opened it.

What are you doing up at 1 in the morning? Shouldn't you be getting your beauty sleeping?

Working on my paper and listening to the rain, why aren't you sleeping?

Can't, I keep wondering if we have a class together and if I saw you at the library today. When do you think we can meet?
