/25/ The Heist

So that's where they went; the construction site near the surf shop.

Ironically enough, rain was pouring down when the four friends stood outside, hiding behind a fence to find any proof that would clear John B's name.
Pope held up a camera, ready to capture anything that would help them.

"Nice camera. Where'd you dig up that relic?"
JJ complimented sarcastically, looking at the vintage device in Pope's hands.
"Why don't you just use your phone?"

"Well first of all, I like my antique electronics."
Pope argued, making sure his voice was noticeable over the loud rain.
"And second of all, this is a telephoto. It allows me to get close images from far away."

"Lord of the dorks."
Kiara commented at Pope.

"For definitive proof of witness payoff, we're gonna need quality glass."
He defended himself, earning a confused stare from Kie.

"Oh, there he is."
He commented , causing everyone's attention to turn away from him as they noticed Ward making his way to the construction site.

"Shit, get down."
JJ told them, pulling Isla down with him to hide from Ward, keeping their eyes on him through the cracks of the fence.

"And there's Gavin."
Pope said when another man walked after Ward.

"Where are you going, you son of a bitch?"
He asked while looking through his camera, capturing the two getting into a building.
"No, no, no, no, I'm losing him. Shit. Where's he going?"

"Hold on"
JJ told him, running away without another word.
He looked around, making sure the coast was clear before whistling the others over to him.
"Yo, I found something, come here."

Without wasting another second, they all ran after him.
"Gotta go up top!"
JJ announced, climbing up a fire escape ladder on the side of the building.

"That works too."
Isla shrugged, following after him.

"Hurry! Don't wanna miss anything."
Kie told her friend impatiently, climbing behind Isla.

Soon, the four of them were on the roof, laying down on their front to look at the building unnoticeably.
"You rolling Pope?"
JJ asked as he watched the two men in the building in front of them.

"Are you getting it?"
Kiara asked, looking at Pope who was holding up the camera.

"Yeah yeah I see them"
Pope answered.

"Ward just handed Gavin something, I think it's a duffel bag."
He announced.

"Guys, I think this is a payoff."
JJ concluded, earning a nod from Isla in agreement.

"Gavin doesn't look Happy about something, he looks like he's yelling at Ward."
Pope kept his friends aware, since they couldn't see anything without the camera.

"Why?"
Kiara asked confused, trying to look into the distance.

"I don't know, but he sure looks mad."
The boy replied.

"Shit"
He cursed under his breath.

"What's happening?"
Isla asked, noticing the two figures get into a fight.

"I dunno, they're fighting over something."
Pope observed, the camera tight in his grip.

"They're really going at it."
JJ commented.

"Ward's kicking the shit out of Gavin."
Pope stated, causing his friends t grow worried for the man.

"What are they fighting over?"
JJ asked.
