Peter pulled on his mask, his body aching mildly. He'd picked up a cough today and noticed, despite a decent amount of sleep, he was much more fatigued than usual.

He raised his elbow to his face as he coughed harshly through his mask. He was going on a mission with Ironman, who was readying himself next to him. (Though there wasn't much for him to do.)

"You alright there, kiddo?" Tony asked, eyeing him as his coughing spree finally calmed down.

"M'fine, Mr. Stark. Promise." Peter said, but his face was pale and his head kinda hurt and his stomach kinda ached.

"If you say so." Said Tony with a shrug, "what's been going on with school lately?"

Peter shrugged, "I've got a math test tomorrow and I've been eating lunch alone. Ned and MJ both got sick, I think there's something going around the hallway flow is thinner I feel. But this math test? I'm gonna ace it. One. Hundred. I can feel it, I'm gonna nail it."

Tony chuckled at his confidence, "you're a smart kid." He said as Peter coughed again, covering his already masked face with his elbow.

"You sure you're feeling okay...?" Tony asked again as Peter finished his coughing fit, clearing his throat and swallowing harshly after.

"Yeah." He said weakly, his voice airy and beginning to fade.

"You know I don't wanna take you on this mission if you're sick.." tony noted.

"I'm not sick!" Peter said pulling off his mask to wipe his nose, "it's just allergies. Promise. Check the weather app, pollen is high right now."

"Peter, we live in the city there's not a lot of pollen to- whatever. If you say you're fine I'm gonna believe you, but don't go bailing on me later, I'm counting on you." Tony said seriously.

Peter nodded with a little grin, overjoyed to be able to go on a mission with his mentor.

"You got it, Mr. Stark. No bailing out." Peter said with a thumbs up and a smile that appeared in the eyes of his mask.

Tony couldn't help but smile back as he flipped down the face of his suit and spoke again, "I've forwarded the location to Karen, you might get there later than me, that's fine." He spoke.

"Okay very cool, see you there." Peter said, curiously glancing at the information bouncing in his vision. He noticed he felt queasy and sweaty, but figured it was excited nerves for this mission and ignored it.

He began swinging towards his destination and only became more nauseous as he launched himself towards his destination.

"Peter, you have an elevated temperature." His AI, Karen alerted him halfway there.

"Awh what? Am I sick?" He asked outloud, noticing just how much his body hurt and how tired he felt.

"Based on your vitals and recent trends, I suspect the early stages of the flu." She answered, "I don't advise finishing this mission."

"I haven't even started yet! I promised I'd help Mr. Stark." He retaliated, almost angry with his self-named AI, "I promised I wouldn't bail so... oh well. Plus it's just the early stages I'll be fine!" He said as he arrived at the scene of the mission.

A massive fight had broken out between the Avengers and some monster that had come to earth following Thor and Loki, as they often did.

"Peter, I advise telling Mr. Stark you are calling out of this mission." Karen said over his mask, her voice carrying over the explosions and yelling effortlessly.

"Shut up!" He yelled back at her, trying to hear his own thoughts over the heavy beating of his heart and his labored breathing.

Everything was so loud and bright and overwhelming (which he recognized as the beginning stages of sensory overload) That he hadn't noticed Iron Man next to him.
